Who's at Fault?
I am the surfer in the video, wanted to post this to learn from this incident. If you pause the video im up on my feet at 6 seconds then trying to avoid the board at 9 seconds. So I had 3 total seconds to make my move. I felt I caught the wave popped up looked down the line didnt see anyone except the other paddler going over the wave then 3 seconds later I see the blue board. I will say I could have tried to straightened out and bottom turn around the guy but again it all happened in 3 seconds and once I noticed I was damn near riding over the board. If you pause at the beginning and spot him paddling out he's pretty far but decides to paddle straight the whole time going right to the shoulder then as I approach him he pauses then ditches the board and goes under (hard to see w the water droplet but if u pause and watch it in slomo u can get the idea). When we surfaced he blamed me, I accepted the blame and apologized. I have no problem if I was at fault I would hate to damage a board or worse hurt anyone. He had no injuries and I didn't feel myself ride over his board he also didn't mention any damage. Just want to know if its truly my fault and if so get some advice on what I should've done.
