Cayenne VR6 MPG
I continue to be pleasantly surprised by the highway efficiency of my Base 958.1. I recently purchased a 2013 one owner Cayenne for 12k with 120k miles with full Porsche service history. I was contemplating purchase decisions across a number of V6 powered SUV’s in the same category but I knew deep down the Cayenne was the one I wanted.
I took my first short road trip and achieved 25.5mpg with my cruise control set to the speed limit here - 70mph. After the trip, I had my spark plugs, coiled and transfer case fluid changed and managed to get 26.9mpg on the exact same route and in very similar conditions. I can’t say for certain the maintenance I performed was the cause of the increase in efficiency but nonetheless, I’m impressed with the results.
Next stop, exhaust modification to hear that unique VR6 motor a bit more - any suggestions for an exhaust that isn’t too expensive?
