New to me Cayenne GTS Coupe

New to me Cayenne GTS Coupe

Got a 2022 Cayenne GTS Coupe. I was putting too many miles on my Cayman GTS 4.0 (I've put 15k on in 10 months so far!) so I wanted the Porsche experience without putting more on the Cayman every day. I'm excited to get out there and drive it.

Recommendations for and overland/ off road build?

I’ve had this 08 cayenne for 2 years now and I’ve been trying to sell it, not a whole lot of interest tho. There’s some evap related codes being thrown and some other intermittent electrical stuff but mechanically it runs and drives great.

So instead I’m thinking of throwing a couple grand (5-10k?) at it and making a nice overland or off-roading rig. I traded a jdm land cruiser for it and miss hitting the trails.

So really does anyone have any recommendations for what I should add or what I should do?

Deal check for 2026 CPO Cayenne base

Hey folks! Would really appreciate some input on whether I should take this deal or keep pushing the dealer a bit more.

TL;DR: 2026 CPO Cayenne Base (6k miles), ~$119k original MSRP, negotiated ~19% off. Is this a good deal?

A little more context: I think the warranty should be end of 31 if I understand correctly (4 yr new car since 25 + 2yr cpo). The dealer is in another city, so I’d either need to have the car shipped or fly there and drive it back. If I pick it up myself, I’m estimating roughly $500 in travel costs plus most of a day.

My original target was 20% off MSRP. At this point, am I being too greedy trying to squeeze out the last ~$800, or would you keep pushing since next week is the end of August?

Appreciate any thoughts!

Rough ride

Would love to hear some feedback if I have poor expectations. I drive a MY24 S E-hybrid that includes air suspension and PDCC. The ride is not smooth at all. The passenger seat vibrates when no one is sitting in it and the whole car will shake on some parts of the road (things like the rear view mirror). Is this normal? I know that Porsche’s will always be sport cars at heart and not luxury but it seems a bit excessive. I will acknowledge that the 22” wheels are not doing any favors but I always figured that between PDCC (which is not cheap lol) and the air suspension, it would be a bit smoother.

Curious to hear anyone’s thoughts on this. Thank you.

Newest addition to my Cayenne

Finally got this installed on my Cayenne, took a good while as stuff didn’t line up perfectly and whatnot but considering it had some front end damage I think it came up good.

Did it all myself at home and also got the headlights refurbished whilst they were out

Picked up my Cayenne Electric S

After six years with a Model 3 Performance, I have finally moved on.

I initially looked at a regular Cayenne ICE, but after six years of electric driving, going back to a combustion engine just felt strange.

I went for the Electric S because the Turbo felt unnecessary, while the base version seemed a little underpowered compared with the Tesla.

A few days in, the biggest difference is the refinement. Interior quality, materials and sound insulation are on another level.

Its also much more relaxing to drive. I really like the higher seating position, there is an absurd amount of space, and the driving dynamics are impressive for something this big and heavy.

It does feel absolutely enormous though, so I am still being rather careful in car parks 😅

The tech has surprised me too btw. The app, connectivity and infotainment are pretty good (also have the passenger screen), and I do not feel like I have lost much compared with Tesla, except FSD which I rarely used. The head up display is fantastic as well.

Very happy with the switch so far 😎

2013 cayenne turbo

I recently won an online auction for the right to buy a 2013 cayenne turbo for $5350. Looks very clean, has 144k miles. Thoughts? I’ve never owned a Porsche before. The mileage has me second guessing it.

Bose audio - why?!?!

Porsche is a high end, luxury brand!
Why is their base audio system Bose, and why do they charge $6k or more for Burmester audio?😂🤣🤷‍♂️
For comparison, Mercedes AMG models have Burmester audio as standard!
Has anyone taken their Bose audio on a Cayenne and done an after market upgrade to something better?

Tow Rig Putting In Work

First time towing with my 2012 Cayenne S (has air suspension) and I was blown away. 3100lbs 16ft uhaul toy hauler with a 3300lbs Mazdaspeed 3 and it hardly broke a sweat. Honestly towed better than a previous 2016 Ram 1500 5.7 I had, very impressed!

Cayenne or cayenne S

Looking to buy a 2019 cayenne but I don’t know if it’s worth it to go for the cayenne s or just go with the base?
Another question, the 2019 is a lot better than the 2018? Bcz as well I like to look of the 2018 more.

One-owner 2017 Cayenne, 15,800 miles, Transfer Case Goodwill Claim Denied

Probably won't get any pity here but figured I'd share for a laugh. Parents bought a 2017 Cayenne brand new in 2017 as a retirement gift to themselves. Always maintained at the dealer including major services (on age alone) and driven 15,800 miles in 9 years. Recently developed classic transfer case failure symptoms.

$5600 later and they have a new transfer case. Outside of (7 year, unlimited mileage) transfer case extended warranty coverage and goodwill claim denied by both dealer and Porsche United States after providing all 9 years of service history.

The laugh is my dad at the service desk said, "I sure hope this one can make it 15,000 miles."

(Edit for more details on specific transfer case warranty extension)

CPO Cayenne vs. CarMax vs. used + aftermarket warranty around $45k?

I’m shopping for a Porsche Cayenne and trying to keep the purchase price around $40k-45k, ideally with relatively low mileage, roughly 75k miles or less.

I’m trying to figure out which route makes the most sense:

  1. Porsche CPO Cayenne This is my preference, but obviously the $40-45kk budget limits the selection. I’m willing to travel or buy out of state for the right one.
  2. CarMax Cayenne + MaxCare I’ve seen some Cayennes at CarMax that fit the price/mileage range. I know MaxCare has a pretty good reputation, but I’m curious how it actually compares when you’re dealing with Porsche repair costs.
  3. Non-CPO used Cayenne + third-party warranty This would give me the biggest selection, but I absolutely do not want to own one in this mileage range completely unprotected.

For those who have gone the third route, what aftermarket warranty companies are actually worth buying for a Cayenne? I’m looking for something as close as possible to Porsche CPO coverage, or potentially even better in terms of length/coverage. More importantly, I want a company that actually pays claims without turning every repair into a courtroom drama.

Would you prioritize:

  • An older/higher-mileage Porsche CPO around $40k
  • A cleaner/lower-mileage CarMax example with MaxCare
  • The best Cayenne I can find independently and add a strong exclusionary warranty

Also, are there any Porsche-specific warranty companies or Fidelity-type plans that I should be looking into?

I’m not expecting Toyota ownership costs. I’m fine budgeting for maintenance, tires, brakes, etc. I just want protection against the $8k–$15k surprise repair that turns a good deal into a very expensive driveway ornament.

Would love to hear specifically from people who have owned a Cayenne in the 50k–100k mile range and actually had to use their CPO/MaxCare/third-party warranty. Please help... I've been looking for months now, Lol.

958.1 VR6 as a Tow Rig for a Boat

Picking up this Jetboat. Total weight including fuel and trailer would be 5,400lbs. According to the manual our cars can handle 7,700 lbs when equipped with the factory tow package which I m 99% sure mine did. However looking for some feedback on whether or not anyone has towed that heavy with the Cayenne Base and how it handled. I know it won't be anythng like towing with my 2500 HD but that is the work truck and sometimes I want to go fishing so the son will be using the truck for work while Dad plays hookey. LOL.

Honest feedback on how it handled would be appreciated. Especially if anyone has towed a boat what their experience would be getting the boat out of the water up the ramp etc.

Cameras they just don’t work sometimes

Hey guys what could be the reason for this? This started with one camera randomly not working to now this with all cameras not randomly working. Some days nothing happens and some days cameras don’t turn on at all. I am taking the car in the dealership as it’s still under warranty but wanted to hear from the group if anyone faced this before and know what was the resolution.
Mine is a 2023 model.

2017 S or 2019 S?

I was considering a 2019 S but came across this 2017 that seems to be a great value. Should I get a 2017 instead and pocket the $ difference for maintenance and future repairs (transfer case). Service history looks solid. No mention of a new transfer case. Price difference between the 2 is probably $20k. Any reason to get a 2019 instead other than all the drivers assistance tech?

957 or 958 turbo?

As titled. These are pretty similarly priced where I live, especial a late 957 and a early 985 (basically 2009-2012). I don't go offroad at all, and roads are pretty straight where I live but I do appreciate if the car doesn't handle like a boat completely. Which one should I choose? thx
