Does Wave XLR MK.2 save phantom power state onboard, or does it reset without Wave Link running?
Hey everyone, considering buying the Wave XLR MK.2 and have a specific use case question before pulling the trigger.
I'm using a Røde Lavalier GO with the VXLR+ adapter. The VXLR+ draws 48V phantom power from the interface and converts it to plug-in power for the lav mic – so phantom power always needs to be enabled for my mic to work at all.
My concern: since the MK.2 apparently requires Wave Link software to toggle phantom power (unlike the original Wave XLR where you could hold the dial), does the device save that setting onboard? Or does it reset to "phantom power off" every time I unplug/replug the USB or restart my computer without Wave Link running?
Ideally I want to use it as a simple plug-and-play interface for video calls without Wave Link running in the background every time.
