4K PR0 & 5090

I have a beefy streaming PC, x870e TaiChi, 7950x, 96gb ram, 5090, elgato 4k pro. Gaming - 14900k + 4090.

I'm struggling recording at 1080p60, my gaming pc runs at 480hz, have set capture card as 60hz(least input lag). I play warzone & average 300fps. When i record on my streaming PC at 1080p60, i notice the bus load on the 5090 hits 100%. After a few minutes, the streaming pc starts skipping frames then the sytem freezes & i need to hard reset.

I have my gaming pc colour settings set to: screen 8bit, RGB full colour range. capture card set to 8bit, RGB(tried the other formats too, 422 does the same eventually), full colour & limited same.

i have tried quite a few different set ups on the streaming pc in OBS, set the EDID etc.

Note that the streaming pc - the 5090 is in pcie slot 1 & capture card slot 2, on this motherboard that means they split lanes at pcie gen 5 x8x8, i have a feeling that may be the cause?

Even at pciex8 there should be pleant of 1080p bandwidth?? Just not sure if my settings are wrong or if this is a hardware issue, any assistance would be appreciated.

Anyone using the HD60 in 2026?

I want to record 1080p gameplay from my PS5 to my PC with OBS.
Is this card still usable?
How is the recording quality?

I built a Stream Deck plugin that auto-ducks your music/game the instant you talk — SpeechDuck

You're mid-song, someone drops into your Discord call, and now you're scrambling for a mixer, an OBS audio filter, or a second monitor just to turn the music down before they can hear you — and turn it back up two minutes later, if you remember. I got tired of doing this manually every single session, so I built SpeechDuck: a Stream Deck plugin that does real sidechain ducking, the same trick broadcast radio and podcast studios have used for decades, entirely from one key.

How it works: the moment your mic picks up your voice — or a conferencing app starts talking back — SpeechDuck automatically pulls your music/game/desktop audio down to whatever level you set, and brings it back up the instant you go quiet. One key arms/disarms the whole thing, and while it's running that same key doubles as a live level meter so you can see it's actually listening.

I use it every day just for my own listening, not only on stream — but this is genuinely one of those features that's way bigger for streaming than for solo use. Your viewers stop noticing your audio entirely, which is exactly the point: no more chat complaining that the music is drowning out you or your friends.

https://reddit.com/link/1vsnhka/video/i6fuoc436ckh1/player

What you can configure

  • Triggers — any microphone, any output device, or a specific running app (Discord, a game, anything) — mix as many as you like. An app you add before it's even running gets picked up automatically the moment it launches.
  • Targets — whatever gets turned down: music apps, games, or an entire output device, each with its own "volume while ducked" level.
  • Attack / Sustain / Release — how fast it ducks, how long it stays down through pauses in speech, how gently it comes back up.
  • Drag-to-set threshold directly on the live level meter — no guessing at numbers.
  • Live meters everywhere — every trigger and target shows real signal level, in settings and right on the key.
  • ~60Hz polling, so the reaction to your voice is effectively instant — no audible lag between the first syllable and the music dropping out of the way.
  • 9 interface languages built into the settings panel (EN/DE/FR/ES/JA/KO/ZH-CN/ZH-TW/RU).

Get it

€9.99, one-time purchase, no subscription: https://marketplace.elgato.com/product/speechduck-ea695e8d-fe4e-4581-9319-ba1df369e49c

💻 GitHub (support, bug reports, feature requests): https://github.com/SquierStream/streamdeck-speechduck

Happy to answer questions about how the ducking/envelope math works, or take feature requests — this is actively maintained.

My other Stream Deck plugins, if you're into this kind of thing:

One question for you all: would a free Demo version be worth putting together — 1 trigger, 1 target, English-only interface (so no multi-app setups or other languages, but honestly enough for the common "one mic ducks one thing" case)? Let me know if that's something people actually want before I put the work into shipping it.

DECK//SWITCH 1.0 — Stream Deck software for Linux, including a screen overlay deck and a browser deck for your moderator

DECK//SWITCH is control software for the Elgato Stream Deck on Linux, with

its own plugin system. It's free and MIT licensed, I wrote it, and it's been

my daily driver for a while. Version 1.0 is out today.

Keys, dials, pages

- Three actions per key: press, double press, hold.

- Dials either adjust continuously or fire a separate action per rotation

direction. Several assignments can share one dial and you switch between

them (dial stack).

- Multi actions: several steps in a row, pauses as steps of their own,

optionally looping. There's a toggle variant with two chains and a

different icon per direction.

- Pages and folders as deep as you like, drag & drop to sort. Swiping the

touch strip pages through your layout.

- Multiple decks at once, matched by serial number, so a deck keeps its

layout no matter which USB port it lands on.

Key images

Icon, label (font, weight, size, colour, alignment) and background (colour,

gradient, texture, image) per key. Animated GIFs play on the key itself.

Everything is rendered by the backend, so the preview in the editor is

pixel-identical to what the device shows. There's also a screen saver

spanning all keys and a separate touch strip wallpaper per page.

Decks without hardware

- Virtual deck — a deck as an overlay on the screen with a freely chosen

grid. No window frame, no Alt-Tab entry, and it deliberately never takes

keyboard focus, so a key that types a shortcut still types into whatever

app you came from. Summoned from anywhere with a global shortcut.

- Network deck — a deck someone else on your network drives from a

browser. Built for a moderator during a stream: password protected,

nothing to install on their side, and they can only press, not change

anything.

Plugins

Seven built in (audio via PipeWire, OBS, Discord, system actions, soundboard,

multi action, navigation) and two installable ones (Spotify, weather). Icon

sets are plugins too. There's an open Python API for writing your own, and

installing happens from a ZIP, a URL or a `streamdeck://` link.

Where it's honest to set expectations

- Arch and CachyOS. The setup script needs `pacman`. On other distros it

stops and lists the packages instead of pretending to detect something

nobody tested. It should work anywhere with those packages, but I haven't

tried.

- Tested on a Stream Deck + only. Grid size and dial count come from the

device report rather than a hardcoded table, so an XL, MK.2 or Mini should

work in key mode — but I've only ever tested those against simulated

device reports, not real hardware. If you have one, I'd genuinely like to

hear whether it works.

- Elgato's own plugins don't work here. Different plugin system, no

compatibility layer, and none is planned.

- Some pieces lean on KDE Plasma under Wayland: the overlay uses the layer

shell, and global shortcuts register with KDE. Everything else is

desktop-agnostic.

- One person, one machine, version 1.0.0. Expect rough edges.

[StreamController](https://github.com/StreamController/StreamController) also

exists and has been around longer — worth a look if this isn't your thing. I

wanted a different set of trade-offs and enjoy building the thing, so here we

are.

Code, screenshots and docs (English and German):

Happy to answer anything, and I'll take bug reports gladly.

Prompter - Post update orientation issues

I use my prompter in portrait orientation, as a screen most of the time to have my chat for streams but also in script mode to record. When using scrip mode it has always filled the entire screen which seems no longer to be the case after updating Camera Hub.

I first lost the power button, i uninstalled/reinstalled and got that back but since then i cant get script mode to work as before. I get the script up with the text in the right orientation but it just seems like a flipped horisontal view since the black background doesnt reach all the way to the edges and the wallpaper can be seen above and below. The script background also reaches in to one of my other monitors.

I have tried several things, updating the display link driver, uninstalling camera hub and reinstalling with a windows reboot in between, tried both keeping and deleting settings when uninstalling. Nothing seems to help and it doesnt matter if i change the orientation in windows or in camera hub (the ability to change it in the camera hub is lost as soon as i touch anything in windows display settings).

What else is there to try? Or is this just a bug in the new software? I just want scrip mode to work as it did being able to use the whole portrait space vertically.

My Elgato Making Weird Buzzing Sounds.

I need help fixing the audio issue I have with this elgato I just bought. It’s a HD60S and I have a Xbox Series S and for some reason it has a weird buzzing sound coming through the elgato. It’s only audible when I’m trying to stream. I don’t have anything that should be too loud and I followed countless tutorials. Reddit seems to be my last option. other than the audio, everything seems fine.

PSA Do NOT update your Wave Xlr MK2 Firmware

every since I did this I’ve had nothing but artifacts in all my clips. and there is no way to roll it back?

I don’t know what changes they made but the moment I update my firmware my dbs went flying up on my audio output end yet my interface was still set to my 45db threshold.

I tried everything new chord, rolling back wave link, rolling back gpus, obs, nothing fixes it and it’s completely at random. In OBS, In wave links live monitoring, and in davinichi voice overs.

Wave Link to OBS

I’ve been trying to get my Wave Link to output to OBS in separate tracks. I’ve tried a multitude of methods shown my the official Elgato youtube channel, and then other YouTubers working with it. I can separate all my tracks within Wave Link, but when I record, all the audio gets put on the last track available for recording. If I allow all 6 tracks, then audio only works on 6. If I make it 1-3 tracks, and put game audio on 3, mic on 1, and discord on 2, I can only hear game audio.

Question regarding 4K PRO

Hi everyone!

I recently bought the 4k pro capture card for my 2 pc stream set up. Since I use a 1440p240hz monitor I want to capture in 1440p and I know that it downscales to 720p60 if I want to have input as 1440p240. So I updated to the beta branch that natively supports 1440p240 at 1440p60 capture and I’ve got a few questions about the beta firmware.

Has someone else tried it and found some weird stuff? I mean, my preview in both obs, elgato studio and 4k utility software got a glitchy and green until I downgraded to the official stable branch again.
Then I tried it again, updating to beta, and so on and then it worked, I know it’s a beta but does anyone know if the glitchy screen comes back, is reinstalling the driver and software back to stable and then updating to beta the only way of fixing it?

Help with Elgato Wave 3 USB Mic.

I'm very very close to refunding this mic. I've got this one during a sale and I thought it would be a nice upgrade to the headset mic I've been using to record my videos. Unfortunately it just doesn't sound like all the the review videos I watched on YouTube, all of them will just straight up plug it without putting any noise suppression or changing EQ and the mic will sound 10000 times better than my wave 3 which I spent 4 hours trying to tweak with effects.

If anyone else also suffered from this mic and actually found the solution that will make this mic actually sound good and not like it's inside a washing machine then please share your settings and effects.

Thank you, I don't want to go back to headset mic.

Audio troubles

Hi everyone, I have an issue and need help but couldn't find an answer anywhere. So when I use Elgato Studio and I switch my audio output on my pc from the speakers to the headset, every kind of audio source (games, browser, audio apps) goes from my speakers to my headset, except for Elgato Studio that stays on my speakers so it's impossible for me to listen to my console games' audio through my headphones, is there any way to solve this ? Thanks in advance !

Is there a plugin, macro, or workaround that lets me combine a push-to-mute hold with a sound effect on the same key? Any help is appreciated!

I'm trying to set up a Stream Deck button that mutes my mic AND plays a bleep sound, but only while I'm holding it down. Is there a plugin, macro, or workaround that lets me combine a push-to-mute hold with a sound effect on the same key? Any help is appreciated!

Why is my switch feed scrambled in 4k utilities?

I tried to record gameplay and i got a error message that read something like needs to update the drivers or nvidia video encoder might be used somewhere else, so i went to recording, video encoder and it was default to Automatic - RTX3080 and i switched it to Software (Built-In) to see if maybe that worked and it did for like 5 secs but then the image got scrambled, I reset my pc and tried putting it back to automatic and the image is still like that. How do I fix it? Im using a Neo capture card. And these are the current settings

PS5 gameplay relay to PC?

Planning on buying a PS5 Pro for GTA 6 and for convenience sake I wanna stream the output through my PC. Main use cases are that I can stream the game to my friends on discord, hear the audio and talk to my friends through the same headphones, not having to switch between monitor outputs and just being able to "alt tab" out of the streaming app and do other stuff on my PC whenever I want without having to switch my monitor settings.

My main concerns are the input delay. Is an internal capture card the best for my use case and is the input lag very noticeable? My monitor is 1080p only, so I wouldn't care about 4k 120hz etc. My PC specs are 5080 + 9800x3d + 64gb DDR5 if that matters at all for the encoding.

Best Wave XLR Pro Settings for Shure SM7B? Mine Just Sounds… Off

I recently switched to the Wave XLR Pro with my Shure SM7B, and for some reason I just can’t get it sounding quite right. It doesn’t sound bad but something about it sounds off compared to what I’m used to.

I’m wondering if it’s just my settings, so I’d love to hear what other SM7B + Wave XLR/Pro users are running.

My current setup:
Shure SM7B
Wave XLR Pro
Cloudlifter — I’m still using it, although I wouldn’t think that would cause any issues
Harris Heller’s EQ preset for dynamic mics
Elgato Voice Focus

I also have an annoying issue with Voice Focus where the percentage keeps resetting every time I open/restart Wave Link, so I have to manually put it back where I like it.
If you’re using an SM7B with the Wave XLR/Pro, what are your settings? Gain, EQ, compression, Voice Focus, Clipguard, etc.?

Also, would you recommend ditching the Cloudlifter entirely with the Wave XLR Pro?

Not going for a super radio like voice just natural! Any settings or changes you guys recommend would be appreciated. This has been driving me crazy trying to dial in. Thanks!

Second time in 45 days

Second time in 45 days I’ve booted my PC and the driver is suddenly missing with wavelink

The only fix is to uninstall the app, unplug the device, reinstall everything, plug it back in, and set it all up again from scratch.

Anyone else dealing with this on 3.0, or found a permanent fix?
