Flagship Bundle for NATO MBT and IFV (Concept For Future Skins)

Here is a concept for a bundle I’ve created inspired by the visual customization we had in Battlefield V with the more personalized options that were available for each faction’s Heavy Tanks affectionately dubbed the “flagship” skins.

Skin for the M1A2 SEPV3 - PAX PUNISHER

Skin for the M3A3 BRADLEY - OL’ SHIRLEY

I’ve included images of the default skins too just incase you want to flip back and forth to see what’s changed. And some images of the vehicles that inspired my designs.

Anyone else do this?

I might just be freaking autistic but, does anyone else change their skin specifically depending on whatever map you’re on to make it feel more like BF1 where each map had its own faction (for the most part) instead of just 2 default sides?

I.E I will use primarily British guys on Iberian NATO and the Spanish (Espada Patrol) guys on PAX since I figure they would be the factions fighting over Gibraltar. And then I use 323 on California and New York and so on, basically every map I have skins I switch to so it fits the map theme.

Andrew Svanberg Hamilton’s Art Direction.

I’m very excited to see Andy back on Battlefield. Now I am excited to see the environment direction but I’m primarily a cosmetics posting guy, I enjoy customization in video games and I’m particularly excited because the last BF game Andy was Art Director was on BFV which I think had the best cosmetic system as far as the micro-transaction model goes.

You could choose out of a wide variety of character heads and bodies and mix and match elements of cosmetic bundles split into Headgear, Torso, and Legs. Each faction had their own cosmetics and each model had multiple variations that increased in complexity and texture uniqueness as the rarity of the item went up. I.E a base helmet could have a rarer version with painted camouflage, then the next version up ads gear to it (for BF6 think NVG mount, rails IR strobe) then the next rarer version has like personalized details and weathering like dirt from shrapnel and tally marks scratched into it for kills and maybe some duct tape with a motto written on the tape with sharpie - basically just even more detail.

I really hope that the next Battlefield game goes back to this way of doing it, giving players greater choice in making their soldier look the way they want and incentivizing purchasing bundles since the items can be used on any of that factions characters and have the elements broken down into separate pieces. And I know it’s a pipe dream but an overhaul of BF6’s cosmetic system to be like this would be stellar, they have overhauled systems before on games Andy has worked on before BFV included as well as Star Wars Battlefront 2.

PAX soldier spotted with a MICH helmet w/ rails and NVG mount.

Found this in the newest trailer, one of the soldiers in the PAX Attack Helicopter looks to be wearing a MICH helmet with full tac rails and NVG mount, pretty sure this model is straight from the model of helmets used on the Marines in the very first campaign mission.

S3 Battle Pass Soldier Unlocks.

As far as this leak goes these are all the skins that will be in the pass, it’s possible they might have more in the season launch build. Currently this is all of them.

Texture for that gas mask skin is out.

Looks really similar to Counter Strike’s SAS faction colors. This one is a great skin IMO.

This is a concept for a BF4 remake bundle for the Strix Raiders inspired by some of the other unit bundles DICE has released. (Keep in mind the current positions of the Strix Raiders are out of order in the class menu, this fixes that)

LEGACY FRONT - A throwback for the Strix Raiders equipped with reissued uniforms and proven field gear from earlier deployments. When old battlefields become active again, these soldiers know exactly where to stand.

Includes Four Skins

Pham Skin > THROWBACK THEATER

Al-Khatib Skin > RECALL ORDER

Brook Skin > SECOND ROTATION

Moore Skin > PREVIOUS CONTACT

The textures are in for one of the leaked skins I showed off yesterday from FFFF_KER, and it’s not really an homage to the BF4 engineer like I hoped, looks more like a US Sheriff’s Department skin. The Second version with OCP like in BF4 would have gone hard.

(SUGGESTIONS WELCOME IN COMMENTS)

I posted some suggestions on how to rework elements of Blackwell Fields last month inspired by the news that we will be receiving reworked versions of both Blackwell and Sobek City later this year.

However, Sobek City poses such glaring flaws in terms of balance, design philosophy and lack of a focused intent in gameplay that I honestly can’t even think of any truly meaningful suggestions to fix it. To hammer home exactly what I’m talking about, you can see above a direct comparison in map size to some BF4 maps that themselves were not all that large in terms of play area and you’ll notice Sobek City can fit twice within the map spaces of Zavod and Shanghai and yet Sobek City has SIX HELICOPTERS.

Can you imagine fighting all 64 players with SIX helicopters on just one side of Siege of Shanghai while removing 40% of the cover. It’s crazy and doesn’t make sense from even an initial design phase.

NATO is also spawned in effectively an empty corner, with the first immediate objective’s orientation being straight forward or a direct 90 degree turn to the right which is in full line of view of PAX’s skyscraper building that is immediately in-front of their spawn, before you even reach PAX’s first gimme flag and offers parachuting capabilities across the entire map for that team. Effectively there is no way for NATO to attack either of their first two flags other than a direct line of approach that can easily be locked down by PAX just by that team taking objectives naturally. (Asymmetry in map design is interesting and often engaging but this imbalance is EXTREME) I believe this map needs extensive, fundamental design changes to meaningfully improve it.

Two untextured skins found in the files by FFFF_KER, they look reminiscent of the BF4 Chinese and US Engineers but with more modern 2026+ era equipment.

Here are a selection of uniforms I’ve compiled using edited DAMTOYS figures, who create realistic military figures based off images of REAL soldiers and operators from around the world.

This selection features US Navy DEVGRU, SEALS, MARSOC, Plain-clothes operators including US DEA and Hong Kong SDU. German KSK Kommandos, Chinese PLA Navy, and Russian FSB.

These units obviously don’t have to be added for skins to be made inspired by them.

Guys, check out DAMTOYS. They make some really cool action figures based on real world photographs of soldiers, war movies and videogames. If you find any ones that really stand out, post them here. I’d love to see which ones y’all would like to see in game.

I really hope we see some skins for the Naval season inspired by some Navy Seals in AOR2 or Tropical Multicam or other jungle themed kits.
