Lime Light Not Growing Buds Except Very Top of The Branch
I accidentally never dead headed my hydrangeas at the end of last season or the beginning of this season. Now all of my hydrangeas are coming back and appear to be okay… except for one. It is growing new leaves, but on most branches, the leaves are only directly below the old flower head. There are visible nodes on the branch but no buds or any sort of growth. I am in zone 4b-5A. All of these hydrangeas are established plants. None of them have ever done something like this, and this is the only one growing back like that. What would cause this and how should I fix it?
