If you pre-purchase Klingeling via the website, receiving a free extra bonus (~10%), how is that bonus amount accessed when at the festival?

I noticed last year the bonus amount wasn’t loaded onto my band initially. A friend suggested that you have to spend the basic purchase amount (300, 400…) fully to then activate the free extra ~10%.

Is this correct?
