2021 RAV4 or a 2023-2026 one, which one you would buy as a smarter decision?

Would you guys buy a newer RAV4 Hybrid (2023–2026) instead of a 2021 XLE Hybrid with around 60k miles for about $29k?
I’m trying to decide if it’s smarter financially to:
save money and get the 2021,
or spend more for a newer 2023–2026 hybrid with lower mileage.
Main things I care about:
long-term reliability
resale value
avoiding major depreciation
AWD hybrid MPG
keeping it for years
The newer ones look nice, but some are getting close to $40k+ which feels crazy for a RAV4.
At what point does paying more for the newer one actually make sense?

I’m dealing with a confusing auto insurance situation and could use some advice.

I had two separate incidents close together:

– One involved road debris (rocks/debris from a dump truck) causing damage across multiple areas of the vehicle

– Another was a separate front bumper impact later on

The appraiser wrote two separate estimates and clearly identified different damages for each incident. However, internally the claims got mixed up. At one point, the total loss was even assigned to the bumper incident instead of the more extensive debris damage.

I was the one who noticed something didn’t look right and asked them to double check. They later confirmed there had been an internal error.

Before that was clarified:

– I received a valuation offer (ACV) for the vehicle

– I was also issued a check related to the front bumper damage

After the mix-up was identified, the file was reassigned to a manager. It’s now been over a week without a clear determination or follow-up, which has been stressful since I don’t know how this is going to be resolved or what to expect next.

I’m trying to handle this correctly and protect myself, but I’m unsure how this situation typically plays out.

My concerns are:

– Making sure both incidents are handled separately and fairly

– Whether an initial payment for one part can affect how the rest of the claim is handled

– What I should or shouldn’t do right now while waiting for a final decision

Has anyone dealt with something similar?

What would you do in this situation?

Appreciate any insight.
