Had a productive couple of days doing scenery and modifications.
Kid got the wife and I both sick, so I had a bunch of extra time at home this weekend. Decided to lop off the front right corner of the layout, and contoured it to the track curve. This was previously a hip impact hazard, and im clumsy, so it had to be done.
Once the cutting and sanding was done, I wrapped the corner in several layers of plastercloth to seal up the foam edges and clean it up. Painted it up once that dried, and then went wild with ballasting, ground flocking, and applying shrubbery. I still need to make all the trees for this area, but its in a good place now.
Today I spent some time applying weathering powders to the rails, and installed some railing along the top of the block retaining wall. Ended up adding a few figures to that scene, and the junk yard too.
I had to spend a few hours cleaning up the spur that connects to the junk yard as I had some plaster spill into it when I did the industrial area previously. Its about 80% now, but I need to go at it with some dental picks to get it perfect. Live and learn.
I need to brush off / blow off some of the weathering powders in a couple spots where it went on a little thick too, but thats something I'll be tweaking over the next little bit. I still need to add some grime, but needed rust first.
