Is a Zippo a bad choice if I only use it a few times a year?
I'm looking for a lighter that will mostly sit in a drawer and only be used occasionally. It might go weeks or even months between uses, but when I need it, I'd like it to work immediately.
I prefer buying quality items, so I was considering a Zippo. However, I've been told that traditional Zippo tend to dry out over time, especially if they aren't used regularly.
Because of that, I started looking at Zippo's butane inserts, but I'm not sure how well they hold fuel over long periods of non-use. My main concern is fuel retention and reliability after sitting unused for months.
What I'm really looking for is a high-quality lighter that can stay stored for a long time and still light up when needed, similar to how some cheap disposable butane lighters seem to work indefinitely.
Given these requirements, is a Zippo (Butane) a good option, or should I be looking at something else entirely?
I'd appreciate any advice or recommendations from people who have experience with them.
