Went to sell my car this week, and while cleaning it out I found this. I vaguely remember buying it in an antique store some years ago alongside some cheaper ones. I thought it was neat, popped it into the glove box and there it sat until last week. Back then I bought it because, why not, but now I’m moving to Japan for a new job and the extra cash would be sweet. What should I ask / expect out of it? I wanna say it’s never struck, but I can’t say for sure. Thanks for looking!

Always was drawn to Zippos but never bought one. Couldn’t resist this design. May have begun a new obsession.

I was hiking the Pacific coast, just enjoying the scenery, when I saw a red and gold object just lying on the cliffs edge. I got closer and saw that it was this cool Ho Chi Minh lighter. Độc lập, tự do, hạnh phúc!

What an awesome find. I suppose someone was just sitting here smoking while enjoying the view.

I don't know if it works or not, it sparked briefly when I first found it, but no longer ignites. The elements may have worn it down? Or do I just need to refuel it? I'm not a zippo or fancy lighter collector. If I've ever needed one, the basic BICs have always been enough for me. Any advice on getting this thing operational again?

Anyways, probably a long shot, but does anyone know anything about this lighter? A company that makes them? I'd like to know more about this lighter if possible. It doesn't have the standard "button" of most lighters, its some type of cylindrical activator located on the side of the lighter. It feels well made. A bit hefty and the lid has this nice "snap" to it.

I plan on buying one or both of these, and using it, but i want the art to stay intact. i know obviously dont like throw it on the ground and put it in a pocket of nails and razors, but is there anything i can do or apply to improve the longevity of the art?

Looking for opinions, and potential repair advice/assistance as I attempt to date, clean and fix up an older Niagara Falls. Really enjoying the slight clues left behind with manufacturing changes as I follow along GlenZippo’s guide.

1961-1963 Hollow Flint Wheel Rivet

I’m wondering if Glenn’s ID guide is Niagara Falls ID Bible? Or if there are any other resources online hidden away with info on how interchangeably NF used hollow vs solid rivets between 1961-1963?

On another note the lid has a side to side
wobble, and I believe the pin to be broken on barrel 1 and 5 while being held in place with barrels 2-4.

Would a replacement pin stolen from another modern Bradford model do the trick?

Finally any experience cleaning up the nooks and crannies with an ultra sonic cleaner after a few Q-Tips?

An old beater my dad got from either an estate sale or a police auction, can't recall. The finish is kinda black i guess and polished, Like mirror. Nothing i can find looks quite the same to me so I was just curious. It is slowly starting to flake off, I find bits of it stuck to my hands sometimes. But I love this little lighter and have abused it for somewhere around 15 years.

Recently, someone posted a picture of a Zippo being sold with both a repair return sticker and an orange sticker. We all thought it was ridiculous because the orange sticker wasn't even "proving" that the Zippo was unused. I actually found one worse than that on Facebook Marketplace. Not only does it have the repair return sticker and the orange sticker but the seller marked it as having no insert! Seriously? What is wrong with people?

I've seen a lot of Marlboro lighters posted lately. I'm from Bradford, PA home of the Zippo lighter! I love seeing people still getting excited about their first zippos because they're so fun to collect.
