I own a RG35XXSP as my current EDC but with every CFW the clamshell feel simply isn't there (since no full lid support). Which is why I'm thinking about replacing it with RG Rotate for basically every 4:3 system (up to PS1).

Apparently it has the same 1:1 aspect ratio and 720p resolution as Cube, which makes me kinda worried about potential scaling issues and/or huge black bars.

So, my questions are:

  • How do 4:3 systems look on your handheld?
  • Do you use shaders to improve scaling? If yes, which ones?
  • If using integer scaling, how bad are black bars around the image?
  • Any scaling tips I should know before I buy?

And before you ask, yes, I actually like Rotate and the gimmick itself is enough for me to consider buying it.
