[LotM V8]If Sherlock thinks, Gehrman acts, Dantès judges, and Merlin believes—what is left of Klein?

[LotM V8]If Sherlock thinks, Gehrman acts, Dantès judges, and Merlin believes—what is left of Klein?

Sherlock, Gehrman, Dantès, and Merlin are treated as costumes Klein uses out of convenience. But they are not.

Sherlock takes away Klein’s ability to grieve and feel guilty, leaving only intelligence. Gehrman takes away the ability to be hindered by conscience, the part that would slow him down as a reaction to his violent nature. Dantès takes away the ability to see through the pretense and recognize that vengeance in the name of righteousness is simply vengeance. And perhaps the most frightening part is Merlin, which fools both himself and others into thinking that he actually holds the keys to wisdom.

He does not assume any of those personalities consciously. He sinks into them. The mask he needs to use in order to cope with a certain situation becomes more natural to him every time it is needed.

And the scary thing is that he is very good at being all four of them. It is getting easier for him to be the detached, ruthless person who thinks he has the answers.

By the end, which one is actually steering?

Special thanks to u/Old_Lie1947 for contributing to this discussion.

[LotM newbie] If you could choose one Pathway to start at Sequence 9 IRL, what would you pick?

No spoilers please.
You wake up tomorrow in the real world with the chance to choose ONE Pathway and begin from Sequence 9 only.
Which are you taking and why?

[LotM V8] At the End of the First Book ✨

After everything they went through, I just wanted to imagine them having one peaceful moment together.
No conspiracies, no corruption, no endless battles — just quiet sunlight, soft grass, and a calm afternoon that feels almost unreal after the journey of the first book. I made this in a pastel/chibi style because I wanted the whole scene to feel warm, nostalgic, and comforting.
The first book gave us so many unforgettable moments, painful losses, and incredible character growth that it honestly feels emotional looking back at how far everyone came.
So this is my small “what if everything was peaceful for one day” version of the ending 🌿✨

[LotM newbie] If Lord of the Mysteries had an in-universe internet, which character would accidentally become the most famous account?

Not the strongest.
Not the smartest.
Not even the most influential.

Just the one who would somehow dominate the timeline without trying.

Who would have:
- the most reposted quotes?
- the most terrifying late-night posts?
- the funniest comment section?
- the biggest fanbase?
- the most suspicious account history?
- the account everyone follows even though nobody trusts them?

And most importantly…

What would their posts actually look like?

[LotM V8] What is the coldest line in the entire novel?

Not necessarily the saddest, most emotional, or most hype moment.

I mean the line that instantly gave you chills the moment you read it. The one that made you stop for a second because of how raw, terrifying, or unbelievably hard it sounded in context.

Mine is still:

“We are guardians, but also a bunch of miserable wretches that are constantly fighting against threats and madness.”

That quote perfectly captures the entire atmosphere of LotM for me. The loneliness, sacrifice, madness, and inevitability of losing yourself while still choosing to protect others anyway.

Another one that hit hard for me was:
“The taste of a demoness ain’t bad.”

What line completely stayed in your head after finishing the novel?

[LotM V8] What was the exact moment you realized this novel was different from everything else?

Not your favorite fight.
Not the biggest plot twist.
Not the saddest death.

I mean the moment where you genuinely stopped and thought:

“Yeah… this story is on another level.”

For me, it wasn’t even a major battle. It was the slow realization that every tiny detail actually mattered, and that the world felt alive even outside Klein’s perspective.

Curious what scene gave everyone else that feeling.
(Ya the img is “enhanced” by ai and I couldn’t find the original artist if someone knows leave a comment and you know Ai is still in development so don’t expect finest detail!)

[LotM newbie] We might actually have a Faceless in the subreddit

Apparently someone made a fake account pretending to be this guy and people genuinely thought it was his alt 😭
At this point, everyone should be careful around people from the Seer pathway 👁️
The Faceless allegations are getting way too real now.

[LotM V3] The most stressed man in the entire series was probably Danitz

Imagine joining a pirate crew and your captain is Gehrman Sparrow.
You wake up stressed.
You eat stressed.
You breathe stressed.
One wrong sentence and this man looks at you like he’s calculating your Beyonder characteristics.
Danitz really went from:
“I’m a dangerous pirate.”
to
“Please don’t let Gehrman Sparrow notice me breathing too loudly.”
Every interaction between them felt like psychological warfare.
Gehrman barely even had to threaten him most of the time.
Danitz would see him silently drinking coffee in the corner and immediately start preparing his last words.
Half of Danitz’s character arc was:
getting traumatized,
surviving somehow,
then getting traumatized again.
And somehow it never stopped being funny.
(Also made a couple AI-generated images of their dynamic because Danitz’s suffering is too iconic 😭)

[LotM V1-8] LOTM readers don’t fear spoilers. We fear seeing “Volume Completed.”

Every single volume somehow ends with a feeling I can’t even explain properly.
Not just hype.
Not just sadness.
That strange emptiness after finishing the final chapter of a volume where you just sit there staring at the screen for a few seconds.

Volume 1

ended and I immediately needed more.

Volume 2

made the world feel much bigger and much darker.

Volume 3

felt like things were already spiraling beyond control.

Volume 4

gave that feeling of “there’s no going back anymore.”

Volume 5

hit with that emotional weight where everything feels important.

Volume 6

felt tense the entire way through, and the ending only made it worse.

Volume 7

felt like standing at the edge of something massive.

And Volume 8...

It genuinely felt like the end of a journey I didn’t want to leave.

The craziest thing is that the words “Volume Completed” became scarier than spoilers themselves.
Because every time those words appeared, I already knew one thing:
I was about to feel empty again.
Then I’d instantly open the next volume trying to fill that void like an addict.

LOTM really mastered that post-volume depression feeling better than almost any series I’ve read .

[LotM V5 ch1008] “This might be the price of growing up.” — One of Audrey’s most beautiful moments

AI-generated recreation of the scene between Audrey and Klein from chapter 1008.

“She deliberated for a moment before breaking into a grimacing smile…”

This scene always stayed with me because it feels like the moment Audrey truly understands what the mysterious world has taken from her — and what it has given her in return.

Back in Volume 1, Audrey entered the Beyonder world out of curiosity and excitement. But by this point, she fully understands its cruelty, fear, loss, and madness… yet she still chooses to move forward.

“Under the premise of knowing how cruel and terrifying the mysterious world is, the me from last June would’ve given up being a Beyonder. But the me of this year wouldn’t.

This might be the price of growing up.”

That line genuinely feels like the core of Audrey’s character growth.

I would absolutely love to see this conversation animated someday in the donghua with the same quiet atmosphere and emotional weight it had in the novel.

(Again, the image is AI-generated fan art and not official artwork.)

One panel. So many legends. Which character here is your favorite and why?

This panel genuinely feels like a gathering of the most unforgettable figures in LOTM. Every character here carries such a different presence and ideology that it’s hard to pick just one favorite.

Mine would probably be Amon.
Not because he’s the “strongest,” but because every scene with him feels unpredictable. He’s calm, playful, terrifying, intelligent, and somehow charismatic at the same time. The moment he appears, the tension instantly rises because you never know whether he’s joking, planning something, or already ten steps ahead.

Curious to hear everyone else’s pick and the reason behind it.

[LotM V8]Every LOTM reader has a weakness for women dressed like this.

One elegant smile away from becoming a Sequence 5 Beyonder involved in three secret organizations and a city-wide conspiracy.

[LotM V8] Low key… Reinette Tinekerr is kinda cute

I know she’s supposed to be terrifying, but the combination of the gothic dress, red eyes, and expressionless face somehow loops back into being adorable 😭

LOTM really has a talent for making the most horrifying entities look weirdly marketable as plushies.

And yes, I know she literally carries her own heads around.

(Pic is an upscaled version that I upscale of an old fanart I found again recently.)

Looking for anime recommendations based on my taste. I usually enjoy shows with strong story, good pacing, and solid character development—especially action, fantasy, or isekai (but not generic or repetitive ones). I’m also fine with some romance as long as it doesn’t take over the plot.

I tend to drop shows quickly if they feel slow, predictable, or low quality. I prefer anime that stays engaging throughout and doesn’t waste time. Good world-building and hype moments are a big plus.

Also, I usually skip OP/ED unless they’re really good, so bonus if the anime doesn’t rely on them too much or has fast pacing per episode.

Recommend me something underrated or really worth watching—not the usual mainstream picks.
