My children became scouts in Norway, and it made me a better father

My son and daughter, then 6 and 8, became scouts in 2023. I was completely blown away by their scout group. The sense of community, the skills they learned, how much they grew as a person and the confidence to believe in themselves they got made me the proudest father. I became a scout leader and boy did it change my life.

I’m completely hooked. The amazing people, the amazing older scouts that takes care of the smaller ones and the community I gained is priceless.

I have grown with them. Learned skills I didn’t know I needed. Been on journeys with them that I never thought I would do. Now I’m a scout not only for them, but for myself as well. Now my partner has joined in and we’re a family of scouts 🏕️

I just wanted to share. Scouting is simply amazing.
