So apparently there's no more packing your carry bags at the register while items are being scanned because "it's unhygienic and staff risk getting sick" is just one of the reasons we were told yesterday. Actually the first staff said "we don't have to tell you why but if you don't like it you can go elsewhere". This was the first I heard and when we questioned staff we had multiple members come over (quite rudely I should add) and contradict the previous member. Not one member was consistent with a reason why customers aren't allowed to pack any more.
It should also be noted that the particular cashier that served us was actually unwell herself with a runny nose and constantly sniffing. Maybe their staff should wear masks if it's that much of an issue?
