Did anyone else's elementary school play music every morning?

We had morning announcements every morning, but before that they would play a song, they had a few in rotation. I don't remember what all songs they had, but I know that among them were the Star Spangled banner (which when it came on we all stood up) and a song that was written for our school. We were the Braves (boy, times were different)and there was a song with lines like "With heads held high we'll do our best." Anyone else?

Sometimes it feels like we grew up in a different timeline and one day all popped into this reality.
