Venue for conference “formal” dinner in November

I’m organising a conference for 30-40 academics at the end of the year. They’re all mostly over 40 and fairly white - I’d be open to interesting international cuisine but not sure how well it would go down.

I’m looking for a restaurant that would work for our final evening formal dinner. Budget isn’t huge - under $100 a head and we’ll throw in 1 free drink with the rest byo. It’s formal but doesn’t have to be super fancy. Previous years we have just eaten in the dining hall of a university college. I’d love to show off our city and our food.

Edited to add: conference will be in the CBD

Thanks!

I wonder if there are any retired or older late diagnosed teachers who now can’t stop thinking about young girls they taught who they now realise had ADHD or autism or both and that keep them up at night. I’m sure the internalised bias probably made them harsher on those girls.

Keep seeing memes about you were a ____ in the 80s/90’s if _______. I had so so many traits as a kid but none of it ever got picked up.

Anyone else ever thought on these lines? Or had a teacher reach out? Or been a teacher who had this thought?

Closest I’ve got is re-watching Bones and realising how autistic coded Bones is. I never picked it up on the first watch!
