I'm getting kicked out of my place

I, 19 m, have been renting out a room from some family friends while I go to college. These family friends do technically live in a different country, but they've told me that they're having to come back more often than they previously thought.

I do also have roommates (a couple who are much older than me), and for reasons unknown to me, they are allowing my roommates to stay. I had been under the impression that my roommates were only here to take care of my family friend's cat, who they have yet to take with them to their new home, and had their own home. However, this cat will be going with them when they come back in October.

The reason they are asking if I can move out by early to mid-October is that there is not enough room in the house for five people to live together for two weeks (the duration of their October visit).

I currently work at a gas station, and I am about to graduate college, but I'm already on an extremely tight budget (almost paycheck to paycheck with very minimal wiggle room), so I'm asking for tips on how to save to move and also, since this will be my first time renting in an actual apartment complex where the people I'm renting from don't know me personally, how do I make the applying for rental process as painless as possible?

Edit: I'm in North Carolina, I didn't include that in the main post since I'm used to subreddits being very strict about any revealing information, including the state you live in
