Pathway Reading

Hey folks. I just started my MSc, which is likely to shift into a PhD, and I have a question about background reading. Are there any hidden gems (books, interactive websites, videos, etc.) that are useful when trying to learn/approach a new pathway? For example, if you were asked to find out how compound X influences X pathway, do you have a go-to resource for learning pathway X basics? I have experience with this (pathway work, needing to do a lot of background reading to get the intricacies) just not at the level required of a grad student. TIA

As a note, I’m a visual learner - not necessarily a requirement, I know that it’s not always an option.
