I'm a safe place.

It's my (44m) and my wife (41f) anniversary today. She made a post about it on Facebook. She said a lot of nice things, it was great to read. But the one thing she wrote that made me feel the best is:

You are my safe place...

Hanging out on social media and the internet in general, I'm usually bombarded by things saying how unsafe men are and how horrible men can be towards women. Seeing her say I'm her safe place makes me feel like I'm actually doing things right by her, and that means everything to me.

It also makes me feel like I'm setting the right example for our children. Showing the boys how to act and showing the girls how they should be treated, at minimum.

The craziest part is... it's not even that hard. I mean, yeah, we work on the relationship, but making her feel safe? Like literally, just don't be an asshole. Treat her like you actually love her, and it falls into place.

I'm someone's safe place, and as a man, that makes me incredibly happy.

I (44m) am currently smiling ear to ear because of my wife (41f). We got married 2 years ago, and it's been amazing.

This weekend, we found ourselves with no children. Not a common occurrence, so we took advantage of it. We went out to breakfast, did some shopping, and had sex. Lots of it. It was incredible. Today, I randomly get a text that read:

My lady parts are sore.

Followed immediately by:

You are, by far, my favorite person to have sex with.

I'm in no way a superstar in bed. Average size, average stamina. Reliable. No other partner I've been with has said something like that to me. I get it. I'm not mad about that, it is what it is. But hearing it from my wife, while in my forties no less... Holy fuck do I feel good.

In the end, it's not about HOW you do it, but WHO you do it with. She brings out a side of me I didn't even know was there. And that makes me better suited to care for her needs, which makes her give herself more generously to me. It's a beautiful cycle that I'm so happy I finally found.
