I’m dog sitting and things are getting weird
I’ve been house / dog sitting for my old boss for over a year now. Usually the stay is actually quite nice and my girlfriend and i enjoy it. After this round of it , I don’t think we will ever house sit for these people again.
It was about midnight when the home owners son decided to come to the house unannounced. I let him in and he said he would be staying there for a few days. Automatically I started packing up our things because #1 if he’s staying there he can watch the dogs for the night and #2 I feel it’s uncomfortable and inappropriate for us to sleep there while he is sleeping there.
We drove 30 minutes home , and slept at home. At about 6 AM i texted my the home owner about what happened , and asked her to ask her son to give me a game plan from now to the time the they are coming home from their trip. I genuinely thought the son would resume the dog sitting on his own. Wrong.
The home owners asked me to come back during the day while the son was out and about and that the son was to let us know if he would be staying the night or not. If he was , we could leave , if he wasn’t , we must stay.
So now we’re on his time. We get back to the house at about 2:00 today and there are ungodly amounts of pee and poop literally everywhere throughout the entire freaking house. It was clear that he never let any of them outside from the time we left last night to the time he left in the morning. It took us an hour to clean up. He also rummaged through our groceries and helped himself to a lot of it. It’s 9:30 now and I asked him to let us know by 10:00 if he was planning on staying the night at the house and he has not responded. I’m so beyond irritated and stressed out about this. The dogs are not in good hands in his care clearly , but I absolutely refuse to stay in this house while he is here. I will never be helping these people again.
