In need of advice; extremely scummy seller

Hello, I must admit I'm not a Mercari regular at all, so I'm not really sure what to do here if there's anything I can do and I'm just gonna assume this isn't a regular thing.
So; I buy an item from this seller, and the label is auto-printed. Then, 12 days go by, and nothing. I try to message him once after 7 days and nothing. Today, the 12th day, I request a refund and suddenly he springs into high gear and the item magically ends up at the carrier.
Later tonight I'm checking for related items on eBay and coincidentally today, only 2 hours later, a seller there has the exact same item, is from the exact same location, and is now selling it for more money. I think "there's no way this guy would immediately list these somewhere else, right?" and sure enough there's matching damage in the exact same places.
I send him a message on eBay, in which he quickly responds, way way quicker than he ever did on Mercari, and suddenly, the bought listing is cancelled and this guy goes silent. Now the reason I ask for advice is since this purchase is gone from my orders I can't exactly leave a negative review, and it's clear this guy is just gonna swindle anyone. Contact Mercari or just let it be? Thanks a lot for your thoughts
