I’m 17 (M), first-year baccalaureate student in Morocco, and I’m in a pretty unusual situation.
My class is very small — only 6 students, and I’m the only boy. Because of that, we spend almost all our time together in the same group, same classes, same seating. I usually sit next to this girl I like.
For about a month before, we were talking a lot on Snapchat and WhatsApp, laughing, joking, and it honestly felt like there was a real connection. In person too, we got along really well — same humor, same topics, same vibe. She even treated me a bit differently (in a good way) compared to others.
Then suddenly, she started giving me the cold shoulder for about 3 weeks. Barely talking, distant, different energy. Recently, she started talking to me again like before… so now I’m really confused.
Some important context:
We live/study in a very small village where everyone knows everyone, so dating is kind of sensitive socially.
On weekends, we both go to the same city (our families have homes there), but I’ve never asked her to meet there.
During the time she became distant, I had serious school problems (almost got expelled, lost my phone for ~12 days, a lot of drama), so I couldn’t communicate much either.
We still sit together and see each other every day.
Now the problem: I really like her, but I don’t know what to do.
The regional exams are coming soon, and after that we might not see each other as much.
If I confess before exams and she rejects me, it could be awkward since we’re in the same tiny class.
If I wait after, I might lose the chance completely.
Also, I don’t know if her behavior means:
She likes me but got confused
She lost interest
Or something else entirely
Should I:
Confess before exams?
Wait until after exams?
Try asking her to hang out casually first (especially in the city on weekends)?
And if I do confess — should I keep it simple or bring something like a small gift?
I’d really appreciate honest advice, especially from people who’ve been in similar situations.
