So, I largely understand why this could be the case- but is it just me or do I find it a bit hypocritical for this attitude? Like I very much understand that in the real world, this gap can be harmful with power imbalances and all, but I did look it up and most people do not have a problem if a ship has a young man trying to date/court an older woman compared to a man.

Some examples on top of my head was Rarity/Spike in MLP, Vanessa/Ferb in Phineas and Ferb.
