So far, one of my favorite things with doing WoD lore research for an upcoming chronicle is the hilarious caveats and exceptions to any canon rule. “It is impossible for a Vampire to embrace a household appliance… except for this one case where Maytag Von Blender was embraced by a Malkavian in 1963” type shit
I posted a bit ago asking the community on how David Lynch’s Twin Peaks could be expressed in WoD terms and several folks noted that characters like Evil Coop, BOB, and the Woodsmen would be best defined as aspects or agents of the Wyrm. That helped focus me SO much as initially I was fumbling around VtM, DtF, and Mage lore trying to make it work, but hooking into Werewolf lifted a storytelling veil from my eyes. So I’m working on a WoD mixed Chronicle and I thought it would be cool to have one of the antagonists be as inherently evil as Cooper’s doppelgänger Mr C from Twin Peaks The Return. How would you suggest going about making him?
I’m running a mixed WoD 5ed Chronicle and so far I’ve been lucky that the majority of my players are playing Kindred and one is playing a Garou, but I have a player interested in playing a Geist. Does anyone have any recommendations for a resource to accomplish that?
Is there a particular standard of relationship between a Kindred and their Sire’s Sire? Like is there a blood bond-style magical attachment or link or is it usually just elder respect because of the Generation difference? I know it can be played in many ways as diablerizing the former generation isn’t unheard of, but I was wondering if there are any game mechanics or general cultural standards to keep in mind. Thank you!
I’m working on running a WoD game set in NYC in the mid-1970’s and it seems that the lore isn’t terribly dense in the bits I’ve been able to find. Does anyone have any suggestions, canon(ish) lore, or specific distinctions to keep in mind for that setting?
