My electric guitar tone feels like it just has too much distortion for the stuff I like to play, but when I tried turning it down on either my amp or pedal, it sounds way too quiet all of a sudden. This happens even when I turn the gain options down only 0.1/10.

Is there another setting I can turn up to compensate for the weird tone issue? Like is there anything else I should be turning up after turning the gain down. Any help would be great!
