What’s one thing that improved your DJing way more than you expected?

Not massive gear upgrades but more like a habit.

For me it was recording my own sets and listening back properly. Hurt my ego a bit at first 😭 but I improved way faster once I could actually hear weird flows.

What’s one thing that instantly tells you a DJ is experienced?

Subtle habits or things you notice when listening to them play.

For me it’s usually track control and patience. Experienced DJs never really sound rushed.

What’s one thing beginner DJ tutorials almost never explain properly?

There are loads of beginner DJ tutorials online now, but I still feel like some of the most important concepts barely get explained properly.

For me it was phrasing.

How long did it take you to feel confident playing sets?

I've been mixing at home on my FLX4 for about 3 months. I can confidently mix songs in my library and have a wide range of genres. How much more practice should I have before I try finding a real gig?
