Dagmer's Clefjaw diversion with 50 men? [Spoilers Extended]

So as far as I understand the lore of the invasion is Theon has like 250 men with his 8 ships (~30 per ship) then he leaves 6 to Aeron to continue the raid and goes with Cleftjaw who sieges Torrhen's Square with what 30-50 men????? so he can take Winterfell with 30 men. How are Cleftjaw 50 men even considered a siege? that weak was Torrhen's square? how could that be enough to divert 900 northmen from the capital to fight Cleftjaw? HOW DID HE SURVIVED? since it is said there was a fight where the shieldwall couldn't be held?

So the alternative is yes, they were at least 200 men in the siege of Torren's Square, but then Aeron 6 ships must be manned by sirens or sea magic, I guess...
