Need help making friends so my kid can keep her friends
I'm a 35yo single mom to a 9yoF. We moved to our current home 2 years ago and my daughter has made a lot of friends (as usual 😊). They usually hang out at our home. The neighborhood kids are coming by more often and I have to be sending them home when it gets dark.
I love that that feel safe here but I noticed that one girl is no longer coming by. Daughter said it's because her mom doesn't know me. Fair enough,I think. I've seen the mom around. We greet each other. But I'm not great at making friends. I'm a socially awkward as they come.
I work sometimes 6 days a week on my business and I don't have a lot of time to socialize. But do you have any ideas on what I could do to make friends with the parents?
I've been hesitant because most of them are the smoking, drinking, partying types and I'd probably shrivel up and die in places they find fun 😅
