Hi everyone,
I'm torn between two scooters and need some "real-world" advice. I live in a rural area and my daily commute is about 20-30 km (12-18 miles) one way. I’m looking for something that won't fall apart and won't burn my barn down during charging.
My situation:
• Commute: ~50-60 km daily total (can potentially charge at work, but prefer not to).
• Terrain: Mostly paved but with some rough patches and dirt roads.
• Usage: Daily commuting + occasionally "towing" a friend on another scooter or bike.
• Experience: I’m not afraid of DIY repairs/maintenance (I can tighten bolts, seal the deck, etc.).
The Contenders:
1. Ausom DT2 Pro: I've heard it's better quality, safer, and has better brakes. But is the range enough for 60km of aggressive riding?
2.(Boyueda) S3-11: The 6000W power and huge battery (38Ah) are tempting for the distance and towing, but I'm worried about the "Chinese lottery" quality.
My specific questions:
1. For those who own the S3-11: How bad is the speed wobble? Is a steering damper mandatory to stay alive?
2. How is the battery quality in the Boyueda? Any fire hazards I should be genuinely worried about if I do a proper "pre-ride" inspection and seal the deck?
3. Can the Ausom DT2 Pro realistically handle a 200lb rider for 50km+ on a single charge if I'm not riding like a grandma?
4. Which one is easier to "bulletproof" for long-term use?
I’m leaning towards the Boyka for the raw power and battery, but I don't want to end up in the ER or with a burnt-down house.
Thanks for the help!
