in my health class there’s one transfer student who doesn’t speak english, and there’s a group of boys who have been essentially harassing him the whole year because of it with no intervention. it’s escalated to physically touching him to the point where he’s forced to sit basically at the teacher’s desk to avoid them. and when told to stop today, one of the other boys said something like “but he’s just so cute i couldn’t control myself”. and that in itself is so fucking wrong that i’m just thinking, have they learned to use this “i couldn’t help it” excuse because it repeatedly works in regards to acts of violence and abuse they commit, mainly towards women?

i have tried to intervene and help but there’s only so much i can do without turning the bullying onto myself (one of the boys used to constantly bully me in middle school too). and teachers are too fed up to do anything about it. but genuinely do they just think they can get away with this kind of shit??
