Hey guys.
So I've had this lawnmower about 10 years and its been great. It says it doesn't need an oil change but we change the oil and have the blade sharpened every year. This year the mower started, ran for about 30 seconds and then died. If I started it and tilted it back, it would stay running barely for maybe 15-20 seconds. After that it will start, sputter and die within 5 seconds. Our other mower started doing the same so we assumed bad gas. Got fresh gas and that did not help. If I leave it be for hours (or overnight) it will start again for about 10-15 seconds then die. Replaced the air filter, took the carb off and cleaned it out, cleaned the spark plug (it was black). Im at a loss here. Any help would be appreciated
Update: I took the cover off and theres a lever there that once I start it, if I hold that lever open (im assuming the throttle?) Then it will stay running. As soon as i let that plastic lever go, something with a spring slowly closes and then it dies. Idk if that helps
