When will be the next cbt 1 be conducted?

Hi everyone,

I’m a 30-year-old male with a B.Tech in Electrical Engineering, and I’ve been working outside academia since graduating. Lately, I’ve been seriously considering a shift toward an academic career, but I’m unsure how realistic that path is at this stage.

I’d like to understand:

A)Is it still feasible to enter academia starting at 30?

Would pursuing an M.Tech or directly aiming for a PhD be the right move?

B)How important is prior research experience when applying?

C)What steps should I start taking now if I want to eventually teach or do research?

I’m also open to transitioning into other fields like Mathematics or related subjects, not strictly Electrical Engineering, if that makes the path more viable.

I’d really appreciate insights from anyone who has made a similar transition or is familiar with the process in India.
