I also want to thank Dan and Jordan. I checked the website several times a week to see if they had made a new episode yet! Doesn’t matter if this goes unnoticed, but whatever, here’s my two cents.
It's important to recognize that everything has its highs and lows much like Alex Jones's influence. Even closely tracking his show, despite knowing it's bullshit, can feel exhausting i think that it must make you think, "I just can't deal with his bullshit right now." Sticking with it the way Dan did takes serious dedication.
Beyond exposing how figures like Alex Jones deceived the public, the humor crafted by Dan and Jordan was truly one-of-a-kind. Jordan's strength is his humor and his ferocity, and the way they worked together ensured that the show was never dry. It was never a matter of working through a list and debunking everything one by one.
Back in the Bush years, Alex Jones went after the Republican establishment. Then under Trump, he has become part of that Republican establishment. he basically joined their team he was part of that Republican machine. The closer Trump acted like a typical neocon, the more Jones had to backtrack or make up weak justifications. He became the very thing he used to stand against. Which just shows that he actually stands for nothing. Full Circle.
Now that he has betrayed himself with all his positions, he has recently also been betrayed by the Republican establishment. Trump who he backed big time, stabbed him in the back.
Even without Sandy Hook, this still would've taken place. But it actually all comes together at the same time. Betraying his self being betrayed by the Republican Party, plus the takeover of Infowars by the Onion.
As I get it, they're not really fighting. They just have different takes on the Onion. Dan has more peace with it because the Sandy Hook families endorse it. Jordan doubts the sincerity and motivations of the Onion. Just a difference in opinion. Well, to what extent questioning is an opinion. I believe if Jordan is right, Dan probably agrees with him too. But overall still, it's a turning point regardless.
So I do understand it that way! Pure self-interest talking: Take a damn break! Dan go cruise around! And Jordan, scribble some chapters, then jump back in when you’re ready.
