Knowledge Fight, Me, and a Master's Thesis

As of this morning, my thesis has been approved!! I'd like to thank Dan for intellectual contributions for the thesis, because his work breaking down Alex's nonsense helped me structure arguments in my own writing.

The thesis is about embodied emotion during the Early Modern period, so, you know, pretty obviously related to our primary ding-dong /s. Thanks to the collapse of funding for humanities, I have a pretty big gap in my education, thst being formal logic. So when I was grappling with some of the more out-there strands of early modern philosophy and medical ideas, I had a little Dan in my head helping me trace if-then lines of argument and reminding me to take a close look at how I was framing my own argument. So thanks, Dan, for stepping in where American higher ed failed

A few audiobooks to fill the KF void

Hi friends, wonky Librarian here. I wanted to share some fantastic audiobooks (also available in print, of course) that have helped fill scratch the KF itch for me. These five titles provide incredible context for the environment in which InfoWars was created and in which Alex Jones continues to peddle his bullshits. Even when Jones/InfoWars isn't specifically mentioned, there are nods in that direction and everything here helps better understand how he - and we - got to where we are right now.

Check your local library holdings here: https://search.worldcat.org/

Purchase via Libro.fm (a portion of every sale benefits a local brick-and-mortar bookstore of your choice) https://libro.fm/

📚 The Power Worshippers: Inside the Dangerous Rise of Religious Nationalism by Katherine Stewart

📚 Jesus and John Wayne: How White Evangelicals Corrupted a Faith and Fractured a Nation by Kristin Kobes Du Mez

📚 Talk Radio's America: How an Industry Took Over a Political Party That Took Over the United States by Brian Rosenwald

📚 American Alt: Friendship, Madness, and the Search for Home in the Land of Unreality by Chris Lockheart

📚 The Culting of America: What Makes a Cult and Why We Love Them by Daniella Mestyanek Young

Of the five titles, America Alt is the only one where the audio production/direction is "just good"; the other four are all incredible in content and audio delivery.

Happy listening/reading, and all hail Celine!

Keeping up with the Jones'

Sorry if this is too off-topic, but has anyone found other ways to keep up with Alex's drama? Last thing I want to do is actually follow him.

Exclusive: See Inside the Austin “Headquarters” Habitat Where Alex Clones Is Being Hidden! A Powerful Rebuke Of The Elitists And Globalists Challenging You For Power! Share This Message Like Your Life Depends On It!

Never before seen video footage has been released of Alex Clones and what he’s calling his “headquarters.” Yes, that is an original Ben Garrison hanging on the wall.

This is inside his “backup studio” that’s being used until his new studio is being built. Once that happens, he’s planning on being live 20 hours a day (possible with clone technology. Source: I’ve watched a lot of movies) and having a late-night show. This is the yarn he’s been spinning for at least a decade, the pipe dream of a new studio that’s always just out of grasp, always just about to be finished. Of course, none of this can be possible without your support, folks. In honor of America’s birthday, he’s offering some great sales, storewide.

Last pic of him is included because this is at least the second ad I can think of that Alex has aired where he’s had some kind of paper in his hands, presumably notes. At least he can hold onto the last vestiges of being teleprompter free when he’s live.

He’s also STILL actively using an Infowars table on air too. It’s the one that looks like a Great Value brand Sons of Anarchy table. Theres no way it wasn’t part of the sale. I know it’s something little, but it sticks in my craw.

Angela Lampsbury appreciation post

She was delightful on Show Me State of Mind. Dan’s deep dives into roadside attractions is something I’m very much here for, and I hope we hear more of her as a guest.

Dedicated to Marty Schachter

There once was a grifter named Jones
Who drank milkshakes made out of bones
Then he uttered some libels
Had to swear on some Bibles
Now he’s one of the clout-chasing clones.

Jordan is FINE

So excited for Dan's new show!

Long time fan. Saw alot of the sentiment being, "gee I hope Jordan gets his own new podcast too!"

It comes from a place of love, but this is a dumb/unhealthy hope. Jordan is not Dan, an their followers should recognize they don't need to go forth into their future as competing or starstruck cohosts. Thoughts?

Wacky Wednesday - Mark Richards Documentary

In Episode 217 where JorDan are discussing Project Camelot, Kerry Cassidy mentions a documentary that was being made at the time by British journalists covering the story behind the killer who committed murder for Mark Richards. Does anyone know what that doc is and where I can find it?

Jordan isn't crashing

I think the points he is making are challenging . Some of you want to silence it because you want to give Jeff Lawson money. let folks repost him and let Jordan do his thing

JorDAN had planned this exit

After hearing show me state of mind it’s clear that all of Dan’s little road-trips were for the new show!

The Onion just gave them both someone to blame and get out of this Alex mess.

So hopefully Jordan has a plan as well. Wish them both well.

What’s your hometown’s “big tree”?

I want to hear what your hometown’s Big Tree or Leaning Tower is. Where did you grow up and what was the local quirky landmark with a story?

Alex Clone plays with guns to celebrate America’s birthday

ETA: he confirms the Onion video is real, but calls it “stalking” and “harassment.”

The Clone (Alex’s Version) made a special out of studio appearance, while making Rob Dew n’ The Crew go into work today. Some of the guests today include Media Star Robert “Bobby Bottle Service” Barnes and Stewart “Too Horrible for a Clever Nickname” Rhodes.

If ever there was a time for Dan, it was this segment. Partway through Alex starts trying to recite the “strong times make weak men” ditty that he loves so much, and he just completely short circuited and forgot. It was like when Mitch McConnell freezes up. Laughable and riveting. He started looking off camera for help, and there was no relief. He finally sputtered his way through, and the whole time I could imagine the gents howling with laughter.

Then Alex goes off camera to grab his pistol. We know how disciplined he is with trigger safety and I made sure to take special note. He only reveals after he’s pointed the gun at the person holding the camera, with his finger on the trigger, that the magazine isn’t in it. You can see it’s not in there, but I was taught to never point a gun at a person, loaded or not. Then he pulls a round out, and tries to reinsert it, with much difficulty, claiming it was really tight.

Before I paused it, he was droning on about how he’s losing weight and he’s going to lose more and people won’t think he’s a clone. I can tell this whole thing about the Original Alex being dead is getting to him, but he’s trying to not let it show. I get it, I really do. I’d be upset if my head popped too.

Episode #23 is worth another listen!

Hello friends -- I've been relistening to the older episodes of KF and I think I found a doozy that others haven't pointed out before (apologies if I missed something).

In Ep 23, we get:

  • The first (???) reference to the Secret Space Program and Project Camelot??
  • Jordan finds out that Anderson Cooper is ridiculously wealthy and is shocked (and it's pretty cute)
  • Multiple references to both hosts having day jobs
  • The realization that Alex only reads the headlines
  • Kind of the entire right-wing media plan exposed (writing articles about mis-reporting basic facts and then repeating and re-reporting that mis-reporting)
  • "We have hundreds of listeners" says Dan, referring to how small the podcast is at this point. ("We would be paid in the ones of dollars," says Jordan, referring to how if only the DNC took the Alex threat seriously.)
  • Jordan points out that Dan is "doing the job that Alex Jones says he's doing" in terms of researching and reading way beyond headlines, "and weirdly enough, it turns out that he's not doing."

It's really good, and it's one of the long, meandering episodes that got me hooked. Just wanted to pass on that it's a really good one.

Dun3: M3ssiah Part: 3

So if yall remember when they covered the Dune Books/Movies? Anyone else kinda want them to come back and do an do an episode on the next movie that's coming out in December? If it wasn't for them I wouldn't have gotten into Dune and now I'm a huge fan. (Well that and the popcorn bucket)

God Emperor Leto II plush for post taxes and shout out to the creator.

I know that Seanbaby from The Dogg Zzone 9000 is a KF fan...

...and they teased that they are going to do a MacGyver episode soon. You can bet who I'm hoping, against hope, is their guest for that...

Any Chance Show Me State of Mind Becomes a Video Project?

Apologies if Dan has addressed that possibility already. And I'm definitely not saying Dan should go in another direction, that this podcast and the accompanying site aren't already a blast (they are).

But 15 minutes in, I'm thinking "I've gotta see this Big Tree..." And sure enough, it looks pretty cool! I imagine every episode will have its share of moments like that, which just got me thinking - how cozy and charming would it be if Dan were to host a PBS-style travel show where he focuses on the quirky stuff and we get to see the sights and his interactions directly?

Plus, something like that under his belt would greatly bolster his case for taking over Survivor from MC Not-So-Jazzy Jeff.
