Offering my services as a Calisthenics coach / gymnastics tutor

Hi everyone,

I am a professionally trained international circus artist and qualified personal trainer, with many years experience of teaching students in acrobatics, handstands and calisthenics.

I am looking to venture into the world of online training, both one to one sessions, programme planning, and group online classes.

Is there a market for this? And how much would you be willing to pay for a private class?

Feel free to reach out to me! I am moving to Hong Kong so could potentially offer in person classes there too.

I am from the UK and classes will be taught in English.

Thanks

Does this park do anything special on your birthday?

Does Disney HK do anything special on birthdays? Free birthday badge or any perks if you show them proof it's your birthday?

I am travelling Asia and thinking to go HK Disney on my birthday, but will most likely be visiting solo... is that super sad? Has anyone here visited solo before?

Is 27 too late to start? What would be the roadmap to getting a good base level of dance skills?

Hi everyone 😄

I am a professional aerial circus artist (Did 5 years of circus school), who grew up doing gymnastics, so I already have a good movement understanding, however my dance skills... Incredibly lacking!

I feel like gymnastics didn't prepare me at all (aside from the awful style of choreo done in between skills) and now I am working as a professional performer I really really want to level up on my dance skills. My body is very strong and good at acrobatics and handstands but I feel like I lack gracefulness and ability to pick up choreo fast.

Where would you start?? What's the roadmap / suggested combo of classes to take? I have done a few beginners vogue classes and commercial classes. But where should I start to get a good overall base level (Jazz?? Ballet?)? I'd like to be able to do the basics, I recently did a contract with a load of dancers and didn't know a lot of the terminology the choreographer was telling us to do (such as a bevel, haha, I know this one now though).

Thanks for any and all advice! I wish there were a full time diploma course I could take for a year but I think mainly college age students do this and I probably wouldn't pass the auditions to get into these courses anyway.

(I'm from the UK, but moving to Hong Kong soon, any online resources would also be a great help!)

Which sound effect do you have on your Prolific notification extension?

I'm a die hard fan of Sweet Alert 5.

What's your sound of choice?

(Yes, it is a very slow day for studies for me over here XD )

P.s- Wanted to make this a poll but it wouldn't work on the desktop version of Reddit.

Hong Kong Working Holiday Visa- what do I need to know? Hong Kong tips in general?

Hello, I am going soon to Hong Kong with a working holiday visa.

I was wondering if anyone on here has done it before, and what tips do you have for me? It is hard to find anyone on travel groups who has done it before, any info or tips is appreciated.

If you haven't done it before but have any useful tips for moving to / travelling in Hong Kong I would also really appreciate that too, have a great weekend 😄

UK Participants! What are we all doing with our dollars?

EDITED TO ADD: By PayPal's fee I mean the high conversion rate, on my money I stand to lose about £62 if I convert my dollars to GBP through paypal by withdrawing to my bank account. Annoyingly it doesn't seem possible to withdraw them as dollars through an account like Revolute.

As title says, I am curious what UK prolificers are doing with their dollars.

I have quite a big amount stacking up in my PayPal, but I would prefer to spend them as dollars rather than face PayPal's big fee to withdraw them to my UK bank account.

What do people spend theirs on?? I thought to use them to pay for a flight but the flight I want is British Airways so I think they won't take dollars anyway.

Interested to hear how people use theirs or if you just withdraw them and take the big hit with the fees, thanks for any comments 😄

Buyer trying for a partial refund

I sent out a pair of converse shoes, they had been worn once and then kept in storage for many year, and the soles had some dust on them.

Apart from that the shoes and soles are in great condition, due to only being worn once.

The buyer said:
the bottom of the shoes are very dirty and worn. is there any way we could work round a partial refund?

I listed the shoes as "good" rather than very good or like new.

What would you do in this case? I think the buyer is over inflating the condition of the soles

The soles are visible in some of the photos, with the dust on them, but I did not post a full photo of just the soles (I will be doing this from now on!)

Thanks for any advice

Hello, I am looking to buy my first LED clubs as I am going away to do a working holiday visa as a freelance circus artist, and want to be able to offer juggling at night too.

I am not a super flashy juggler, it is just a secondary skill I offer as a walk-about act. I usually juggle in parades while walking or do club passing, I do not have a stage juggling act.

My question- are Juggle Dream LED juggling clubs decent enough or just not worth the money at all? I want cheap and cheerful, as I may end up giving them away at the end of my travels to save luggage space, but if they are really horrible to juggle or the LEDs are not bright enough I don't want to waste my money! Buy cheap = buy twice and all that.

Does anyone have experience with these LEDs (any videos of you juggling them would also be so helpful) or can recommend me a set in a similar price range?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

P.s I am UK based, while I am buying the clubs

Hello! Will try my best to explain:

A researcher requested my study to be returned and I told him I would raise it with prolific if they were not willing to change their mind, as I did not accept fault for the issue, which I believed was the researchers fault (and I at least wanted partial compensation, which they refused to offer).

My question is- the study is due to auto approve anyway in 4 days time, if it has a return request open on it does this mean auto approve will not happen? Or will I just get paid anyway?

Trying to minimise the drama as the researcher is not pleasant to deal with, and hoping if I stay quiet it might just get auto paid, what do we think?

Thanks and have a great Sunday!
