The controller doesn't really interest me, it's any controller with two potentiometers sticks. But I sometimes wonder if anyone was able to do anything with the station/dock/whatever device that's connected to the TV for playing Stadia. Can it be used as a normal Chromecast? Can be modded to become something else entirely?

Budget: $1200 or less, I'm fine with getting an used Laptop
Country: Italy, Italy forever
Use Case: Academy stuff and Gaming. Maya (ew, I know... but that's what I am stuck with) and Very light fighting games, 
the most intensive being the occasional sf6, sf5, or more often played Guilty Gear Strive, all offline as they're inside locals
Preferred Specs: (i7-7700HQ, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 / 1050 T, Ram could be anything, 
I think the one from the old one should still work, 
1TB of HHD and any SSD should be fine, 
I think I will install my system on my HHD anyway, the Y520 was slow as hell even witht the SSD) 
Notes: In its 8 years, it killed a battery, and both SSDs I put on it, 
and I'd like to know something with the same specs (i7-7700HQ, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 / 1050 T), 
but with a better cooling system and overall better airflow design, 
especially one that won't attract all dust in the room. 
I am not exactly looking to repair the old PC, 
after giving up the ghost on such a crucial and expensive component
