We’ve had our second or third fatal accident at the concrete barrier of the HOV lane @ 75S & Spring Valley last night over the last couple of months. Clearly this is a problem area. I think the biggest issue is that the signage for the HOV lane is not accurate/completely labeled, leading to drivers trying to exit the HOV lane at the last second and causing accidents.

The highway signs above the HOV lane leading up to the concrete barrier where the wrecks happen only show “635 express lanes” in the 1st pic. These signs should also show “75 south” or something similar so that drivers know that they don’t have to exit the HOV lane in order to stay on 75S.

I think the majority of accidents are because drivers panic and think that they’re about to enter the 635 express lanes when they want to continue going south on 75. The sign showing that you can continue to 75S from the HOV lane is only present after you’ve made the exit labeled for “635 express lanes” in the 2nd pic.

Am I crazy or is this a wildly obvious & fixable problem?
