Ang Tatlong Tusok (The Three Arrows) - My concept for a Philippine Social Democratic front :>
Amidst the constant political turmoil, this is something I've been working on with a few friends at university. Actors within the Philippine Government have flourished for decades enabling rampant corruption, violence, and state capture.
The three arrows stand for Corporatocratism, Clericalism, and National Democrats.
Corporatocracy plagues the Philippines, with our politicians either being a part of, or bought by businesses and criminal syndicates.
Clericalism as well, with not just the Catholic Church, but the INC and KOJC as well hold significant positions of social control with significant influence over national and local government.
National Democracy, as the main, most well-known, and deeply-flawed leftist opposition in the Philippines. They operate on the outdated belief that the Philippines remains a neo-feudal, neo-colonialist state, and have resorted to decades of armed insurgency and blind activism. Their irresponsibility have made it all too easy for the government to persecute leftists, and they themselves have assassinated key leftist figures in the Philippines, such as Danilo Yang of the Democratic Socialists.
It's still a work-in-progress, but I've joined Akbayan and I hope to further participate in political society! Unfortunately, I'm in Japan and I'm unable to join any protests in the Philippines, which is a shame... -.-"
