Reducing weight for running better and heat management

10 days ago I was 67, now I am 65, lost 2kgs but still in overweight category. Running as a fat guy in summer is very hard, not to mention 90+ humidity in the mornings where i live. Average resting HR dropped from 58 to 56 this week. Have been taking about 60-70grams protein to not slow down. Doing lunges and squats for keeping the legs in optimum shape. My PR came when I was 61kgs. I gain fast and I lose weight fast, that's a superpower i suppose.

Adding this as a progess for my own accountability

Jump rope Threshold?

Raining for 3 days every morning. Traffic anytime afterwards, so a 30 minute jump rope Threshold is good right 🥸

Thank you post

I asked for underwear Suggestions some time ago, and I got a ton of suggestions. Thank you.

I also got the decathlon breathable underwear. It's like a second skin to your body but it is not invisible to your body, you could feel you are wearing something, maybe the spandex type feeling, and as someone who wears underwear 24x7, it was uncomfortable to sleep with it on. But man, no sweating, it just keeps me sweat free.

Regarding the non chafing part while running, it tends to crawl up so yeah, it's good, but not thaaat good. Maybe running tights are the only option for fat thighs. ( Not fat fat, but bigger thighs which rub )

1st Outdoor run after a long break

Temp 24C. Wind negligible. Humidity 80%

6km 50mins. lower zone 3 avg HR - 163bpm

Heart rate was unusually high so ran 8:24/km

Running outside after an unusually long break felt so so slow. The Avg HR was 163 (Zone 2 range 155-162). Sprinted at the end to 190 BPM. Quads and feet somewhat tired. Have to catch up the progress I left behind. Cheers 🥂

HIIT for endurance

Tried HIIT after 8 years.

8 years ago I couldn't sit after sleeping without the support of a hand initially. I was frustrated at how pathetic my body was.. 67 kg, 3 kg overweight.

Did 1 month of HIIT workouts, dropped to 62 and my endurance went from 5 minutes hiit to 40 minutes hiit. I could get out of my bed from sleeping position in one swoop, body felt active and there were a hint of abs showing below the chubby skin.

Now after 8 years, I did it today, mainly after stopping running for 1.5 years. 15 minutes HIIT and I couldn't talk for 15 more. Average HR showed 160 but it is wrong. It was close to average 190 for about 13 minutes, coz when I was resting for 10sec between sets it would jump up to 185+ (watch HR)

Watch suggested 26 hour rest for recovery. I will do this again tomorrow and gain my fitness back as I am back to 68 kg again and I must drop to 60. Just sharing progress here.

I will share my zone 2 easy run Stats in my next post when I go running again. It is a way to track and hold myself accountable by posting here. Cheers 🥂

I am FAT in my thighs and it is irritating every time I run. I wear boxer underwear but after running for a while they crawl up and the thighs are red again after rubbing. Absolutely nothing works. I tried vaseline and that gave some relief. Are compression shorts better for me then? Can I wear shorts above compression wear in the Indian Humid Summer?

Because humidity where i live is always 95%+ for about 5 months a year. TY for any responses
