Hey, RCMP, kindly clear something up for me.

I'm getting conflicting information. I know in the past after Depot, you go where you go.

To assist with recruitment/retention, I understand they recently guaranteed your province of choice after Depot.

Now I'm hearing they'll give you your detachment of choice?! Surely that's incorrect.

Would some RCMP folk kindly chime in here with the black and white on this policy?

Thank you very much in advance.

Rejected after pysch.

Just a vent among people who can appreciate it.

Was rapidly moving through a department's application process. Did fine with physical, written entrance exam, first interview, second interview, then on to pysch.

Shrink appt was an hour long, then a multi hundred questionnaire of true or false. The questions captured various themes. For example one theme was familial relations, and out of 300+ questions, maybe 10-15 would be around that topic and would range from "I have a good relationship with my mother." To "I hate everything about my family."

One such theme was introvert vs extrovert style questions. I am unashamedly an introvert, and answered accordingly. Virtually every question that centered on this theme, I answered in the introvert direction.

Thing is- being an introvert doesn't stop me or hold me back from anything in life. Ive worked in customer service for over 10 years. I've been in the military for over 5. I have a wife, and three amazing kids. I have close friends whom I've known for over 20 years.

Anyway, after the pysch eval, the psychiatrist called me for some clarification. Apparently I scored such that the exam declared me "socially avoidant." The shrink asked me about it, gave me 20 minutes or so on the phone to explain myself, so to speak. That conversation ended with her seemingly satisfied.

A couple weeks later, the rejection email.

If you ask anyone who knows me at all, they would never describe me as socially avoidant. Whatsoever. I feel misrepresented and frankly, kinda cheated by an exam because I was honest when I could have just selected various other answers to portray myself more evenly rounded.

Giving myself a day to feel shitty about, then continuing on with other agencies.

Just venting. Thanks for reading and any consideration.
