How has it been 5 plus years and we still have this issue where your player gets sucked into a “board battle” while skating full speed up the ice?

Scenario: You enter the offensive zone at full stride and the CPU defender initiates a “board pin” and all your momentum is stopped instantly and you get stuck.

This has been happening for at least 5 iterations of this game. Is this remotely realistic? I could see it making sense in the corners, but this consistently happens at the blue line.
