Halo 4 (and all 6 games in Master Chief Collection) Burned!

I wasn’t there for the Halo hype, and heard 4 was really bad cuz it was the first one not made by Bungie, so I was pretty curious about the last game in the MC Collection and… Yeah, nothing really stuck with me as much as the last games? Still had pretty good gunplay but this felt like it was half the size of previous campaigns with an even flimsier story? I honestly didn’t care that much about Cortana so that probably fell apart for me cuz it was the whole point and all. I dunno, just didn’t click with me. The climax wasn’t even nearly as big or exciting as previous games either. I was like “wait it’s over?” Like it felt like it ended just as it was starting.

But I’m gonna give the Halo series a rest for now while I go through my other backlog bingo slots. It passed me by so I never got engrossed, but I had fun with all 6 games in the collection. I can see why people love this franchise so much now at least.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Justice For All, Burnt (2/3 of HD collection)

I think this game didn’t hit as much as the first Ace Attorney’s stories did for me personally. I don’t think it had nearly as many highs, but it still offered some solid mystery and twisting turning plots. The newer characters for the most part also left me abit wanting compared to the first, though Pearl and Franziska are the obvious standouts. Still not a bad game! Just a bit inferior to the first for me personally. But that’s like comparing an 8/10 to a 7.5. I’ll revisit and wrap up this trilogy some other time.

Another spot knocked off my backlog bingo. And a connecting one too, how about that? Maybe the RNG game picker will give me a full left row. Who knows?

I haven't played since they added Yagorath, what do I gotta know for aug 9?

Seeing all the buzz for Aug 9 got me looking back into this game, but how much has changed since then?

Should I update my loadouts? Is there a site for browsing popular new character loadouts?

Idk, it's been a while, dunno if I need to know a lot for returning after so long.

Mass Effect 3 (and Legendary trilogy) Burned! — Final Playtime: 40 Hours

Wasn’t there for the Mass Effect hype, or the ME3 ending controversy, but I think I understand the initial hate a bit more now. That being said, super solid experience all throught, I had a pretty good time with this fun cast. (My fav was Mordin) But it’s definitely not something I normally play, it’s very much outside my wheelhouse. But glad to notch another one off my backlog, and my bingo.

Wonder which of these I’ll end up doing next.

How I been burning my backlog the last few years: BINGO!

First time putting my backlog progress online after chipping away at it myself for a while. Been at it more consistently now that I developed a system for it that’s worked out for me thus far.

I have a high likelyhood of ADD, and so I’d always bounce between games when I get bored of one or hit a wall. But after counting how many games are in my backlog one day and realizing it goes up to 100+, I tried to do some stuff to remedy this. Eventually the method that worked for me best was Backlog Bingo!

Since I can also be pretty indecisive, and I have the “writing lists autism” as some friends put it, I found out I’m better at being TOLD what to play by a randomizer and sticking through it til the end, rather than picking whatever I feel like playing most. Which is hard anyway cuz again, 100+ games to choose from. So this method has helped me a ton, and maybe it’ll help you too!

What I do is after I wrote down every single game in my backlog, I either select only 25 of them, or put them all in a randomizer I looked up online and let it pick 25 for me. Then I put those 25 into a bingo card generator, again just search online, and then randomize the bingo card. (You can do Free Space or not, I eventually made the first game randomly selected to play next in my following bingo the middle space.)

Then I use another randomizer to pick out of those 25 games, and I don’t stop until I either finish the game (or 100% complete it if I feel like it), or decide to quit it if I really don’t like it. I use a random wheel website like pickerwheel or wheeldecide for this part.

And then when I get a Bingo, I start fresh with a new bingo card of 25 games! And I reward myself by like buying a new game to add to the backlog, or just buying myself a pizza or ice cream, lol. My backlog consists of Nintendo Switch, Switch 2 (and all the NSO retro games they come with), modded 3DS, DS, PS2, PS4, and Steam games. So I’m gonna be at it for while! Currently on my third bingo card and I’m going through Mass Effect 3 after Romeo is a Dead Man (I got it gifted so I prioritized it). Will post on that once I finally burn it off my backlog! Happy backlogging and bingoing!
