Katana zero burned

Been lurking here and it inspired me to finish some games. Also finished star fox but I forgot to screenshot before I deleted it. Ripleys believe it or not I guess

Witcher 1: Enhanced Edition Burned

I have never played The Witcher games before, even 3, despite hearing how good they are. So I decided to read the books first before starting. They were incredible, my favorite series of all time now, and I was a bit nervous about this game before starting since the books have a perfect ending. First playthrough was about 55 hours and I did pretty much everything I could in one playthrough except one of the Witcher contracts (killing enemies i had already fought before)

And they nailed it. The world, the story that follows up, the neutrality and consequences playing a major theme. The fact this was their first game is baffling to me because it was fantastic. I love how knowledge is important and alchemy is required to really nail the witcher role in society, and how it sets up for the next games. I'm really excited to see how 2 and 3 are! I haven't done the adventures so I'll finish those since they are quick and move onto the next one, but I'll probably do a replay or two eventually of this one. I think it really adds to reading the books before this too because it gives such good Easter eggs and references. Most of the books in game are just excerpts from the actual books. I'm also probably one of the few people that loved Act IV in this too lol

Combat is the only rough part and the walking back and forth with little fast travel. But combat preparation is really fun using the different oils and potions to get just the right combo, figuring out the style, learning their weaknesses and strengths etc.

Forgive Me Father 🔥

In perhaps an oversaturated Boomer Shooter landscape, Forgive Me Father truly stands out with its rich cartoon style graphics, dark cthulu material and booming soundtrack.

Arriving in Pestisville after receiving a letter from your cousin, madness soon starts to take over your character. Choose between the priest and the journalist to start blowing away the nasties that infest the town.

Locations are very well distributed and mixes things up. From blasting throught the town, to running through corn fields, submerged in the depths, trudging through swamp lands...the variation of the levels is great.

It can be very tough at times with ammo being pretty scarce. Your weapons look amazing in this artstyle and can be upgraded through a fairly large skill tree. No weapon feels useless, even the knife is powerful and has a weirdly large range.

Enemies also look brilliant, well drawn and with the thick black lines, really pop out. One thing I thought was excellent was, there are these zombies with severed heads in their hands, when you pop a headshot, it just puts the other head on, brilliant.

When all hell breaks loose, the soundtrack kicks in and its time to strafe , circle, blast and dodge. The firefights are edge of your seat and demand every ounce of your attention.

One thing that was a little underwhelming, is that the end boss was perhaps a little too quick. Apart from that, this is highly recommended, if you want another boomer shooter to play.

Donkey Kong Bananza burned!

It has some of the same problems I had with Odyssey but not to as egregious of an extent.

The movement tech is great but the amount of collectibles that are just sitting out in the open is a bit much. It was a bit of a slog to 100%

🔥Super Mario Odyssey Burned🔥

9 years since release, I have finally turned this game into ASH 🔥

Definitely the best 3D Mario since Sunshine and Galaxy. The switch 2 upgrade was worth waiting for, it’s absolutely stunning.

I found it too easy though. I guess it is only a Mario game after all but all the bosses except the last one weren’t challenging at all, but a very fun game. They could’ve added a few more worlds instead of adding so many hidden moons to collect.

So much post content to do which I may go back to before the next 3D Mario.

Bowser is not the devil, I AM!! 👺

The Legend of Zelda: Moonlight Regalia Burned!

A romhack of one of the Oracle games which focuses on the dungeons and has a smaller world map. Nine dungeons plus some smaller ones as well with a darker story and two endings.

Evoland 🔥

A very quirky, short love letter to RPGs & Adventure games. Really short, at around 2-3hrs long.

Wearing its FFVII & Zelda influences on its sleeves proudly. Has action based combat in sections and turnbased in others. Extremely light in both areas, but clear to see where the inspiration comes from. There is even a "Triple Triad" card mini-game, but again very barebones.

Graphics switch up as you progress through the game, evolving from GameBoy style green tinged screens to 3D pre rendered backdrops.

There is a big bad that is doing bad things, a young girl you must protect, an airship takes you through the highwinds to reach a magical tree to kill the bad guy.

Blink and its over, but a very short charming experience.

I’m not sure if I should switch games when I haven't finished the ones I'm currently playing.

I’m not sure if I should switch games when I haven't finished the ones I'm currently playing.

If you’re familiar with Harvest Moon and Rune Factory, I’m playing both right now. They’re super fun and I’ve put a lot of time into them—I switch between them depending on my mood. But I’ve hit a point where it feels pretty grindy and hard to keep going without feeling burnt out.

I just bought Persona 5 and really want to give it a try, but I heard it takes over 100+ hours to finish. I’m a bit worried that I’ll end up burnt out on that too and just add another title to my backlog, well, since these are all single-player story-driven games. I also have an online game I play on the side whenever I feel like it. I won't abandon the first two games since I've come this far, but I might need to put them on hold for now.

Note: I just feel kind of bad because life is getting busier too. I really hate having a backlog, so I wish I could just finish games one by one without having to put one on hold for so long. But yeah, burned out can happened

I wanted to ask if anyone else has experienced this, and what did you guys do?

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 - Switch 2 Edition burned

The Switch 2 version adds so many improvements as this took me 70 hours to finish the main story for the Switch 2 Edition.

Original Road Rash on 3DO burned!

Long time reader, first time poster. Been working on this one for a while. So much of this one feel luck based, and the coastal tracks can die in a fire, but overall I really enjoyed beating this game from my childhood

u/AUSyTyIN — 6 days ago

You can only choose one. Go!

Two relics of raw 2000s violence lie before you. One must be spared for a full playthrough, the other will be cast into the fires of hell never to be seen again.

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond Burned!

5 years after launch I finally managed to beat the Pokémon League in Brilliant Diamond! Took me 2 weeks to get through the game. Will do some postgame legendary hunting and other content but seeing the credits means it’s finally off the backlog!

Halo 4 (and all 6 games in Master Chief Collection) Burned!

I wasn’t there for the Halo hype, and heard 4 was really bad cuz it was the first one not made by Bungie, so I was pretty curious about the last game in the MC Collection and… Yeah, nothing really stuck with me as much as the last games? Still had pretty good gunplay but this felt like it was half the size of previous campaigns with an even flimsier story? I honestly didn’t care that much about Cortana so that probably fell apart for me cuz it was the whole point and all. I dunno, just didn’t click with me. The climax wasn’t even nearly as big or exciting as previous games either. I was like “wait it’s over?” Like it felt like it ended just as it was starting.

But I’m gonna give the Halo series a rest for now while I go through my other backlog bingo slots. It passed me by so I never got engrossed, but I had fun with all 6 games in the collection. I can see why people love this franchise so much now at least.

Assassins Creed Black Flag Resynced 🔥

The Reluctant Assassin

Edward Kenway, a man seeking fortune and a better life for himself and his beloved wife. Sets off on an adventure that he never bargained for. This remake is exactly what I wanted bitd, no modern day stuff (even though now I can appreciate it) just a good old fashioned adventure flying the black flag.

The original game was always a looker, but this has now elevated what was an already gorgeous game. From stunning sea and water effects to intricately detailed towns and ruins. The towns in particular are filled with busy townsfolk all set about there days and gives a real sense of purpose and believabilty.

Aside from Kenway, the game has a huge strong roster if characters, from Blackbeard to Kidd and then the crew members like Padre that you pickup along the way.

The main story is an incredible tale of a larger than life treasure that seems all to familiar in this day and age of surveillance, but back then would have been deemed witchcraft. Outside the main story is lots of other worthwhile endeavours. Recruiting crew fir the infamous Jackdaw, Naval contracts that sees you fighting all sorts of different fleets aboard your cherished boat, Templar assassinations and even little collectables like the music notes to add to your crews playlist of memorable shanties. Also to note the music and dialogue delivery is excellent.

When you are done with the story, the caribean waters is still rife with discovery and secrets that will keep you entertained and ever curious. Fantastic game and a must play for any adventure fan and AC fans alike.
