Weird 1970s shampoo brands

First…Prell. Which came in a tube that you squeeze. How many bought Prell thinking it was toothpaste?

Second…Wella Balsam. What is a wella balsam? A balsam you find in a well? Why is it the “original” balsam?

Third…”Your Hair Smells Terrific.” The shampoo makes people want to sniff your hair. Which is strange and creepy.

Fourth and finally…Body on Tap. A shampoo with beer. Yes, beer. For some odd reason, no actual beer companies ever branched out into shampoo or bath products and hence we have no craft beer shampoos.

You have to wonder if shampoo executives were doing the sniffy sniffy at discos before dreaming up these shampoo brands.

Karen berates Amazon worker for using a port-a-potty

And the Karen has to record herself berating the poor guy.

First of all, it was probably an emergency. No one uses a port-a-potty for fun.

Second? The house is under construction. The port-a-potty is rented. She doesn’t own it.

Third? Why is she recording this? I feel bad for the Amazon delivery guy.

Six family members charged after their pit/husky mix killed a week-old infant

The dog’s name was Chomp and it had a bite history. The house itself is in squalid condition and is basically unlivable. Hopefully these mouth breathers will have better living conditions in jail.

All six family members look like they share a brain cell. How else do you explain leaving an infant with a dog named Chomp?

Paparazzi traumatizing little kids. Exhibit A: Suri Cruise

This poor girl spent her toddler years being greeted by flashbulbs on a regular basis. Anyone with eyes could see she was overwhelmed and scared. Shame on her parents for exposing her to this. The paps, of course, are bottom feeders with no shame.

Thankfully, Suri has lived a private life away from paparazzi since her parents’ divorce. But it was wildly unfair for her to be subjected to this. It was also wrong for the parents to contribute to it.

[Hated Trope] Character Assassination Driven by a Creator's Spite

This is one of the most loathed tropes in tropedom.

A character is a fan favorite, but the creator doesn't care. For purely spiteful reasons, the creator decide to trash the character altogether.

First up, Wally West, one of DC Comics' most popular characters...not that this mattered to Dan DiDio, DC's publisher. In Heroes in Crisis, Wally was turned into a murderer who killed fellow patients at a mental health institute and then tried to frame people for it. Tom King was the writer, but he freely admitted he didn't pick the characters. Editorial did. This story and its plot were so reviled that the whole story was retconned and totally undone. (Basically, one villain messed with Wally's mind to make him cover up the deaths. Then it turns out another villain killed Wally's fellow patients. Then it turns out no one actually died. They were rescued and replaced by clones.)

Next up, Cordelia Chase, who went from spoiled rich girl to caring Scooby gang ally and Angel deuteragonist. Alas, the actress who played her, Charisma Carpenter, was Joss Whedon's unfavorite. In Season 4, Cordy ended up becoming a villain, having sex with Angel's son Connor, and then being dumped from the cast. She came back for one episode where she was revealed to actually be dead.

Every creator has some characters they don't care for or even hate. But how many go out of their way to tarnish their least-favorite characters so badly?

▲ 3 r/CPAP

Last night my CPAP machine was knocked over. I got a noseful of distilled water, emptied out the tank, and tried to sleep. At some point the air stopped and I noted that the menu display was flashing. I unplugged the CPAP.

Now when I plug it it I either a. get an “SD Card Reading” message followed by the regular menu followed by a flashing display or b. a flashing display.

What do I do now? Wait for it to dry? Will it get better? I have had this thing for two years. Help!
