Lumapet review
Wanted to drop a LumaPet review here since I've seen a lot of posts asking whether red light therapy actually does anything for IVDD dogs. Been running it on my frenchie for just over 2 months so figured I'd share what I've noticed.
Quick context: he was diagnosed last year and we went the conservative management route. He got stable but never really comfortable, you know? Stiff in the mornings, slow getting up off his bed, just kind of moving through the day instead of being himself.
I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting much when I bought the device. But the change has been hard to ignore. He moves looser, settles more easily after each session, and went back to using the stairs he'd been straight up avoiding for months. My protocol is around 10 minutes on the spine 3-4x a week and he knocks out cold every single session 😅
To be clear, I'm not calling this a miracle cure or anything. As a complement to his regular care though, it's been one of the more useful things we've added.
A few things I'm still working out and would love input from anyone deeper into this:
How much does session frequency really matter? I've been doing 4x weekly but wondering if daily makes sense during flare ups.
For those of you who've left a LumaPet review or just tried RLT in general, how long did it take to see something? We hit week 5-6 before it really clicked for us.
Anyone stacking red light with hydro or acupuncture? Curious whether there's actual synergy or if it's overkill.
Feels like there's a real gap in honest, real-world info on protocols for IVDD recovery, so any experience appreciated.
