Summer…where did the fish go?
So all through late May and June we scoured our local river and found several great spots. My son and I could pop over before I went to work and get a couple hours of fishing in. Our best spot nicknamed alpine was two pools about 100 yards long with a nice outside bend and a riffle in the middle. Several downed trees in 2-3 feet of water consistently resulted in 16+ in bass. And at least 2 20+ in. All released.
Now we tried alpine since we haven’t had much luck in the last few weeks and got one 10in bass.
We’re planning to get back to searching again, focusing on the locations we know and expect to find the deepest water. We are assuming it’s a temperature driven change but wanted to see what you all thought about it. What about the spring fed waters?
