Giochi italiani da recuperare

Ciao a tutti :)

I wanted a photo mode for my Godot game, so naturally I built an entire add-on

Hi guys!

After finishing my exams for the summer, I decided to return to working on my game. At some point, I also decided to implement a photo mode. Who knows why, considering I almost never use photo modes in games.

So I built an entire photo-mode add-on.

It is called **Lente**, and it is free and open source for Godot 4. I still use Godot 4.4.1, but probably it works correctly with the more recent versions too, let me know.

---

The basic setup is:

  1. Enable the plugin.
  2. Add one `LentePhotoMode` node.
  3. Press *P*.
  4. Take some photographs, only to realize how bad your game looks.
  5. Try using the filters to fix it.
  6. Quit indie game development and find a real job.

---

I do not want to overwhelm you with technical details here. I made a short YouTube video showing the add-on basics, and the download includes a technical guide explaining how it works and how you can modify it.

I originally created Lente for my own game, so you should consider this version a useful **middle point** before I start adapting it specifically to my game's mechanics. You do not need to implement a photo mode entirely from scratch, but you should still learn how it works and adjust it to fit your project.

I know you won't do that, but I appreciate you anyway.

---

Lente currently includes:

  • A free-moving camera with keyboard and gamepad controls. -> There are camera collisions and configurable movement boundaries.
  • FOV, focus, aperture, depth of field, exposure, and roll controls. -> All things you don't know.
  • Twelve predefined filters. -> I've taken the best for me.
  • An in-game gallery and reusable presets. -> screenshots are also saved into folders on Windows, Linux, and macOS, located inside the operating system's Documents folder.
  • English, Italian, and Spanish interfaces -> English is the fallback language, and Lente automatically detects the language configured in the project.

There is currently one feature I'm still working on, the integration with full-screen `ColorRect` filters does not work correctly in every project. It has been publicly shamed in the README and will be fixed. I need it for my own game too, so I actually care about this one.

Still pending. Jesus Christ.

The add-on is MIT licensed, so you can steal it without even letting me know—just remember to keep the required license and copyright notice.

Feedback, bug reports, and enormous amounts of money are welcome.
