Ethernet bridge between Switch 2 and PC always stops working after a few days.
I'm in a situation where the only way to connect my Switch 2 to the internet at home is to have my PC connect to the wifi and the switch connected to the PC with an ethernet cable. (I can't mess with any of the wifi router settings so just don't bring up the wifi) I've been able to connect my switch to the ethernet befoe and the first time all I had to do was plug it all in and it works. However every few days, the connection breaks for some reason and I have to scour the internet for settings to change. So for I have always been able to fix the issue but today nothing I try works.
Has anyone else had this issue?
Why did it all work so smoothly the first time and then get worse?
Does anyone have any ideas to make the connection work permanently?
Things I've done so far:
- manually set the IP adress on the switch and my ethernet port.
- set my network to private.
- make a .bat file that closes and reopens sharing on the wifi network control to "reset" the connection between my PC and Switch.
- Manually set the DNS on my switch
